Seriously, the definition of insanity is to perform the same action over and over and expecting a different result.
The problem with LA NA is SG + AGS.
SG is responsible for patches and game content updates. AGS for publishing the game and communication with us. AGS should be telling SG what we are clamoring for.
Now here is where it gets real sticky. SG likes good press and wants money. AGS wants good press and money. Those two goals are more important than us “little people.”
Since their goals do not match up with ours it is causing friction.
All decisions on game content are made so that profits are maximized.
Best to get this into your heads now.
Companies dont give a SHIT about what you want. They dont give a shit about your ideas. All they want is whats in your wallet or purse.
Regarding the Roadmap… after Thuraday is when we can expect to see it. Dont expect good news. Prepare for the worst.
Not listening to the community is bad press. Players are leaving and the game is getting smaller for a reason. Games also don’t work the same way movies or other media work where advertising is the utmost priority in spreading the name, if they think so they are just wrong. Games have always thrived through word of mouth, with advertising simply being used as a presentation board for what’s coming next. As long as word of mouth is sour, since I know I can’t recommend the game to anyone in its current state and others as well, the game will continue to die, and both those companies will learn to care about the community’s needs if they don’t care now.
All things said and done, you are right about them wanting money, and as long as they prioritize that they will never succeed in press.
We’ve played plenty of games across the years that go for a cash-grab and run method while the game dies, and once they realize that isn’t sustainable they try to come back with another publication. As much as looking at the current state of the game tells me it will die through cash-grab, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t voice our concerns and wants.
This isn’t gonna work. Nothing wanted has ever been achieved without working for it, and for us it’s being as vocal as possible.
We’ll continue, it’s not insane, and that’s definitely not the definition, even if it was it doesn’t apply here.

That’s not even true, if they cared about profit so much they would release costumes n shit, and maybe paid passes.
No one knows what they care about.

Drip feeding costumes is exactly the move to take, especially releasing the least popular ones first, if you want more money in the long run.

I doubt it, the player base is going to decline more and more as time goes on until it reaches whatever number that it stops. Should capitalize on when player base was at its highest.

Drip feeing it makes sense if your game is like Genshin and you have a run away hit and can report making nearly a billion dollars in less than a year.
Lost Ark ain’t that. AGS spent more time and effort making sure Lenora’s playing card was covered up in case Kotaku wrote some gamergate article about their game for an audience that will never play their game than releasing any content.
They already said it’s not coming today. Thursday or Friday are realistic dates.

Yeah June roadmap for content coming out on June 29th
Drip feed gets a lot more money out of players than releasing everything at once. If they released so much more at once, I would only buy a few. In games where they drip feed costumes, I find myself buying quite a few because any nice combination of skins might come in the future won’t be possible unless I buy at least one costume each time.
Note: Doesn’t mean I approve of it, but drip feeding costumes is very common practice in MMO’s, or at least the asian MMO’s I’ve played.
