- 3 AM CET : announcement
- 9 AM - 12 AM CET : maintenance
I suppose it implies that the EU players will ALWAYS be the penalized ones when a hot fix is needed. At least it’s clear now…
For example, a solution would be the following planning :
- 3 AM CET : announcement
- 4 AM - 8 AM CET : maintenance
meaning 10 PM for NA east, 7PM for NA West…
We complain about american being selfish, but europeans are similar . . .

Unless they perform maintenances at different times for each region this isn’t an ideal solution either.
According to your reaction : your are ok for an emergency patch as long as it isn’t while you can play the game ? I think we are doing some progress on your understanding of the EU situation

Saw already all those time of maintenance complain with FFXIV (8-12h sometime extended to 16h)
When there is a worldwide management, anytime will be a problem, better be it in morning than evening in my opinion.

I agree that the problem isn’t easy to solve, but the current situation seems unfair to EU players…
But you have no problem to sacrifice NA primetime to protect europe morning ?
I never said the situation is perfect, but said than this is maybe one of the less worse case…
People play more in evening/night (to midnight/1h) than in the morning, earlier we do the EU maintenance, the more we go on evening/night in NA, as i said in my previous message
Your idea to do maintenance at 4h00 in EU, it does 22h00 in east coast and 19h00 in california…
If all NA players think like you there will be no problem
Besides, the schedule I proposed was an example (in order to make people react), if you have a better idea, please share it with us, it’s always so easy to criticize without bringing any solution…
i would complain if we had regular maintenance in the window 17h-midnight…
while i (myself) can adapt to play early afternoon (so could do dailies with no problem each day even this way) this would impact far more people that the current european situation…
So if they think like me, there will be a huge problem.
here is the problem : based on CET , we have 6h difference with east coast, and 9h difference with west coast. keep this in mind when you say “why not having the maintenance for europe at those time”
the window with the less impact is 1h00 => 8h00
Most people are sleeping.
then the work/school window : 8h00 => 17h00
When you are at work, or at school, you can’t play, it is most days of the year
Sure some people get night shift, etc etc. but… larger part of population work in this window
17h00 => 1h00 is the moment most people can play with a peak around 20h00-21h00
So you have to avoid as much as possible maintenance there…
SO maybe, now you see why i consider that the morning for europe is maybe the less worst case scenario…
Because there is no way we can set up a situation when it is night for either europe AND NA… And if we go night for europe we go in the worst case scenario for NA…
You can dislike what i say but most people are not affected by maintenance during the most current work/school time…
FFXIV most maintenance are 8h00-12h00 (sometime long maintenance go to 16h00 if i remember well)
BDO got maintenance for europe again… in morning.
In fact, everytime there is a service common for europe and NA, the maintenance is night for NA, morning in europe… why ? because it is better to get this in morning that evening. (if you get night for europe it leads to have evening for NA… and can even be in primetime… )
Solution ? 2 time for maintenance, but there are various reason to not have it, …

If no change is possible, EU players, who will be always the most impacted, could have a better compensation for example ?
The other problem is about communication if they announce these maintenance several hours sooner (at least 6 or 7h) and not at 03 AM when 99% are sleeping, players could organize their schedule…
100%. They need to announce the maintenance at least a day in advance IMO, and it should be very clear in-game.
think they need to make it clear that if you are in the wrong place when maintenance happens you will lose your weekly entries and there is nothing that can be done to restore them. Should be flashing red letters for an hour before the maintenance to just log out now or risk losing progress/weekly entries
They could announce it on Steam a bit faster, not everyone generally loads forums to read what’s going on. And maybe spam it more in game earliest possible, so players know more in advance.
However, several days in advance for an “unscheduled” maintenance, that’s one hilarious line.
How can AGS plan for something unexpected and unplanned, they aren’t magicians.
Then how come FF14 can announce its hotfixes days in advance?
