What would be benefits to wait for monday player side ?
Again if the problem is “i wanted to do my dailies just before reset” this is not their problem … most people with enough experience on MMORPG knows that you should first do dailies when you log in . . .
that’s literally the time i’ve been doing my dailes for the past 3 months, except on maintenance day i fit it in my daily schedule a little bit earlier because i know ahead of time about it
The critical thinker here would conclude that the dates and times presented were used as an example of delaying the patch by a day and not about the specific day of the week. A critical thinker would also comprehend that the point being made was that “we’re given a lot of fluff and smoke and we’re asked to just take it.”
Please don’t misconstrue my intentions - I was by no means indicating that they should do patches on Saturday. Rather, I was asking for a reason to be provided to show why patches outside of regular maintenance are done at the times they announce so that it makes sense to the player base.

just a heads up ahead of time a day or two before doing it since people plan for all kinds of events or dailies or whatever to do at certain times

and like i said before, not everyone has your daily schedule, i play the game at that specific time and do my dailies at that specific time because it fits my schedule perfectly
If you are in OCE, yes, sad for you. ok. (if i dont do mistake, it is 15h-19h in sidney time for maintenances, so if you only play afternoon, ok…)
If you are in US / Europe i won’t trust you are unable to play another time…
Also, first thing i try to know on a mmorpg after its release is not “what is coming next” but “maintenance time” and i am sure to have as low as important thing to do in game at those timing… this is just the basic common sense for me… because a maintenance could reach any day and it is always easier to not have to “replan” myself just because of it…
SO monday… because one day after friday we are… saturday so Week-End and the first day after e is… monday.

it’s a pre patch maintenance, it’s meant for the patch on the 19th, it can be done literally on any day before that

it’s not an important bug fix, which is literally the whole point of op’s post.
he literally said if it’s a game breaking bug or exploit then yeah it’s understandable that you give a shorter notice, but in this specific case it’s not really that much of a problem so they should’ve told us a day or more before it, it’s not like they coded the fix after the announcement they made, they knew before hand they will be doing this and most likely knew when, and still they did not say anything till a few hours before the maintenance
by saying “there’s an upcoming unplanned maintenance in 3 days, for the people who cant think the planned maintenance is on thursday, the unplanned maintenance is literally on any other day of the week and can be announced beforehand”
For those who think maintenance times should be changed, I think that’s a valid ask. Just realize that the point of having a single maintenance time for all time zones is so that content is released to the entire Global service at the same time, and that maintenance can be done streamlined across all service zones. I’m assuming that the choice of PDT was made because AGS is based on the west coast, and I’m guessing the game’s primary data centers are on NA west coast.
The cost of changing the maintenance times to be more inclusive of all the service time zones was decided at the beginning, and it’s usually very hard to change once the service is live. So continuing to complain about the time of maintenance becomes a complaint on something that cannot be changed. I think it’s better to complain about things that can be changed, such as asking them to delay unscheduled maintenance by a day.
it’s just weird since every region is set on its own and are not linked by any means, which is why we cant transfer characters, but somehow maintenances, events and everything is tied to a specific us region time
I accept people have schedule spread all along those 24 hours.
But i also accept that due to how there are only those 24 hours each day, and we have worldwide service, ther will always people at the bad time for maintenance…
Part of people that can only play after midnight in US or during morning in europe are a small minority… most people CAN’T play at those time…
Ok sad, you get fucked by those timing, ok but there exist no solution… people complained it in any game with a worldwide maintenance time…

the problem isnt the fucking day, the problem is that they announced it hours before doing it, if you werent following the game at that specific time you wouldn’t have know, if they said on wedensday or tuesday we will have a 2nd maintenance next friday no one would’ve given a fuck, because we knew in advance and would’ve adjusted accordingly.

the problem is that they didnt announce it early enough for people to take notice.
if it’s not a game breaking problem that needs a fix then it can wait, if it’s a game breaking problem then yeah i would understand doing the maintenance as quickly as possible even with an hour or two notice

How does any normal person really care if a video game is down for a few hours? Its not that big of a deal.
the fix clearly says it’s for the future patch, so most likely you wont even see any bugs till the new patch comes out next week.
and they were clearly working on this patch for some time, it’s not like they were like " oh fuck, god just sent us this patch, lets release it immediately"
so they clearly had this patch to release, most likely finished coding and testing it too, they knew they were gonna release it at this specific time from earlier, and still they didnt announce it till a few hours before the actual release.
do you understand what i mean when i say i play this game at this specific time except on maintenance day i try fitting it into my schedule?
i am not fitting this game every single day into my daily schedule, once a week wont be bothersome, but i am not gonna be like oh let me save this 30 minutes of my day every day to do the dailies then let me do the rest of my gaming session in the morning.

the problem is that if it isnt a game breaking bug then you as a company should have the decency of respecting your players and announcing it at least a day earlier like all decent gaming companies do, and when a game breaking problem happens and they have to do a quick fix they do the fix quickly and give the players a compensation for the annoyance this caused. which they did before btw.
