no, i think you need to learn how to read at this point tbh.
what i said is that they had prior knowledge of this patch and they did not announce it till a few hours of maintenance.
and what they said is that they’re doing a pre patch patch for the future content, which most likely means the patch is just saved files that wont be even used till the next patch gets released. a split patch if you wanna call it that.
if that is the case, or if it’s something they will test immediately after the patch it wont change anything, you will still have more fixes to do in the future, and you had prior knowledge of that patch and you did not say anything about it.

There are many reason that can explain doing this way… like waiting for this patch to be sure there are not emergency to deal with. no emergency due to thursday maintenance ? then go do this. why not waiting either way ? as said, earleir is better.

it seems people get to dramatic for such low loss in the endless grind… even 50 days over a year is not such issue…

at the end of the day it’s about respecting your player base, you either tell people in advance and give them enough time to work things out or you give them a compensation for wasting their time.
and once or twice a weak in a year you’d be two to three months behind everyone else that’s playing, so yeah it does fucking matter in the long run.
so in a year if someone missed a day every week they’d need almost two more months to catch up to the content you’re doing, if they miss 2 days a week they’d need a bit over 3 months to catch up to the content you’re doing at that point, no matter what they do they’ll always be behind and the more they play the more they’ll be behind.
the game eventually releases catch up mechanics but you will always be behind.
as said, who cares except people putting the game to high in their lives…

i am … for REAL inconvenience, not for 4 hours videogame time… (there are numerous way to not being in front of your screens for 4 hours because “maintenance” … so numerous way to not have those hours of “wasted time” … )
20 years ago already people complained about maintenance, and in 20 years people will continue… try to understand this fact, the problem are, for the current subject, how people deal with games.
Spoiler : i had to learn it myself. because i considered years ago that such thing were “waste of my time” then i grew up… i realised i was the only guilty for this waste…
I think its pretty likely that there was more to this patch than what was mentioned to us by the CMs. Not even really saying that roxx knew but it just doesnt make sense for them to have done maintenance like this the day after the regularly scheduled maintenance. If it were ONLY related to next weeks patch they probably would have waited. I’d be willing to bet it probably had something to do with server stability. Who really knows though.
Regardless of what prompted it everyone that picks up an MMO should know that stuff like this is completely normal and should be expected. Especially for this game with its horrendous track record. I get that people try to plan their days around this stuff but coming to the forums complaining about it isnt going to make it happen any less frequently. Just learn to accept that you wont be able to play the game for a few hours occasionally and go do something else while you wait.
I understand unplanned and off-schedule maintenances can be inconvenient, and we strive to keep these from happening as much as possible, but unfortunately they will happen on occasion with live service game at scale. This particular maintenance came in extremely hot, and we let players know about it as quickly as we could. Unfortunately because of it’s necessity, there wasn’t a timeframe we could leave open to use to let players know days in advance; as stated in the notes, infrastructure adjustments needed to be made ahead of our update next week, which meant doing this as quickly to prep and monitor was a requirement.
