⚠️ PLEASE announce unscheduled maintenances DAYS in advance

Knowing AGS, probably not. It’s a bit of a meme/trope at this point, but WE are the guinea pigs who do the testing live it seems.

It’s obviously different in Korea since they have PTRs, but I doubt we’ll ever see any of that over here.

Nothing in the announcement says it is an “emergency”. Nothing in the announcement suggests it’s anything more than an infrastructure update. I’m sorry your neurons aren’t firing quickly enough to read the announcement properly though.

because they didn’t know it was happening until after yesterdays patch… do you people even have a job??? do you understand shit happens???

Same company that are finally adding QoL stuff after 10 yrs of development. All it took was for ffxiv streamers(not the cheating one, cheating bad lol) to show the add-ons for SE to go "yea we will add those QoL.

So? This is the Lost Ark forums. I am not here to complain about issues in FF14. I do that on the FF14 forums.

Can you people realize that there are things that each game to learn from the other?

Or are you too small-brained and have to resort to video game tribalism?

Hotfix implies this.

Honestly they should do it on daily reset time. Screw us over 3 hours to do dailies after main 2 days in a roll. Really annoying…

You do realize that they aren’t even using the word “hotfix” correctly in the first place? Hotfixes do not require downtime if we are following exact definitions.

please announce roadmap months in advance! woops, too late hehe

just use a minority report type system and automatically figure out when things might go wrong

Why are Square Enix and Blizzard able to do so then?

I think that what he really meant by saying “Please announce an unplanned patch in advance” was that AGS failed to use the correct term for this patch and instead they present it as “Hotfix”. You cant label an announcement such as "infrastructure improvements that are necessary to deploy ahead of next week’s May Content Update.” as a “Hotfix” this thing is not game-breaking which forces you to do an ASAP hotfix. They just did a poorly announcement about it.

Hotfixes could require immediate or proximate downtime which is exactly what this is.

100%. Whatever they described is in no way an emergency nor is it something that requires a hotfix.

I wouldnt even mind the unscheduled maint if they gave out apology boxes that actually meant a damn. Like some bound GHL, or useful things. I dont need a 3 day aura or Res pots for 2 chaos dungeons which can net me 0 GHL since its “not bugged”

cope

HOW DO YOU EVEN KNOW THIS?

What a troll 0/10. They could be fixing a gold dupe and you’ll never know and its probably for the best.

Can you try some reading comprehension? People are telling you that they misused the word “hotfix” which is obvious to anyone who actually knows the definition of the word instead of having to look it up on Google.

BRO JOBS LEADING THE WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYyyyyyyyy haha nice

Other companies are able to announce emergencies by explicitly saying it’s an emergency without giving away the exploit. You’re grasping at straws here because they only thing they have mentioned is an “infrastructure update”. Please keep conjuring up imaginary scenarios though.
