200k player loss after the 10th of March patch

Now i understand why mom always said to not take candies from strangers

But you can take candies from another kids

Hey guys!

I posted this in another thread but I’m wondering if I could please have your assistance in providing some constructive feedback as well as leave a nice post for the director, devs and CMs? This to attempt to help the longevity of our game! ^^

Kindness goes a long way and the director definitely reads the forums, reddit and steam.

Leave as much detail if you have recommendations and I’ll add them to the main post as part of our community feedback!

Fox, I’m not mad at you. You don’t make decisions. But to make statements like this makes no sense. Why are you trying to defend a decision that Korea literally made in 2020 and it was met with a horrible response there as-well?

How did this mistake get REPEATED HERE? That’s why and I’m sure others are angry more than anything. AGS and Smilegate ALREADY HAD THE DATA TO SHOW THIS WAS A MISTAKE.

Also one skin that looks like ass on anything but the Warrior base class is considered enticing? Who made the decision to only release one skin pack anyway?

The single day player loss were bots, and before you reply with “Oh there wasn’t a dip in the past!”

This time they shadow nerfed the gold sources the bots were abusing. The gold from rapport and early game quests has all been removed from the game. They literally took away the easy gold the bots were farming.

My server has significantly less bots than it did before. Are they all gone? No, but there’s a lot less overall.

The effects on player numbers are players who have spent under $5000 dollars on the game but spent between 6 - 8 hours a day and feel slighted that content is locked for all intense purposes behind an extreme luck / pay wall. If you spent under 5k on the game you’re under ilvl 1370 or very lucky.

The dream was that lost ark would respect a players time, not many mmos do this and the past few years this single factor has made and broke mmos.

I’ve been in asmongolds stream the past few days and a larger number of players have sent things to him stating in mail they’re un happy and leaving the game, this need to be rectified before the damage is permanent. I’m not saying this to cause “fud” around the game but because I love the game and i don’t want to see irreparable damage done at such an early stage.

The same sentiments have been expressed in a number of the top lost ark streamers twitch chat as well. You say youre open to listening to player feed back well this is the time to act on it and not just listen.

200k is kinda pitiful for EU+NA combined honestly, pop of NA is 600 mil and pop of EU is 700 mil. 1.3 billion and the goal is 200k? Meh. Korea pop is 50 mil and they get more than 200k. If they keep running the game the way they are in the western regions where only the whales are catered to, there will not be even 200k for long, though.

Yea then every steam game is dead according to your logic

Steam shows 422 hours played but I’ve left the game running at least 3-4 nights by mistake and I hop on while at work to hit wandering merchants (Ty Saint’s discord bot). I’ve spent a few hundred on the game ($175 for silver, gold, plat founders packs + as you can see I like skins).

I’ve really enjoyed myself and will continue to do so, but even I know playing this much is unsustainable long term as it’s effecting my sleep and causing me to procrastinate at work. That being said, I truly don’t understand the doom and gloom, nor do I understand how people can complain about more content being added to the game.

Sure, it was probably a little too early for most players, and I agree it would be nice to get the other weekly content to increase our materials. However if I’m playing the ridiculous amount I am and I can’t keep up with all the content, how are people playing more casually complaining about not being able to access the highest content in the game?

There’s 2 chaos dungeons, 2 guardian raids, weekly Abyssal dungeons, daily and weekly Una’s tasks, Cube and Boss Rush (averaging at least 1 a week each per character), Procyon’s compass events with daily field bosses, adventure islands, chaos gates, and weekly Ghost ships. Anguish isle daily as well. Some of that is per character and some is per roster (thankfully).

Someone said nobody likes chaos dungeons but I think they are great. They are relaxing content I get to blow mobs up in, it’s when the game feels most like an ARPG. The guardians give me monster hunter vibes and teach the basics of countering and positioning. The abyssals give me a taste of mechanics that I know will be more elaborate in the raids.

There are extra mats on the guild bloodstone vendor, the Pirate Coin merchant ship, endless chaos dungeon farm, and doing the Towers again for your alts. Personally I haven’t had time to do endless chaos or the tower on my alts last week or this week, as I’m rotating my alts dailies and powering through Rohendel, Yorn, and Feiton (I boosted through Rohendel via knowledge transfer until I hit cap then manually did the rest so far).

Now we have the racing event too and thankfully that’s very casual friendly as I’ve bought out the entire thing in 2 days. I haven’t gone to Bamboo isle yet or touched the new story, I’ve been selling mats making gold from the whales and enjoying myself.

There’s a good amount of other islands I haven’t experienced yet. I was stuck in limbo for two days when I finished Punika on my main. While I think T3 gear should be tradable like other regions, it allowed me to go knock out most of my adventure tomes to at least get all the skill points (only Punika left now), and I’ve collected nearly 800 Mokokos.

I try to keep up with Rapport but it’s hit or miss, I get a few in daily for the most part. I tried to cheese Nia but bricked it by foolishly clicking the chat prompt that gave me extra rapport so I’m stuck 1 gift shy of completion. That made me start looking up stat potions and I’m on the grind to get 330+ now lol.

Then there’s stronghold management and trade skills. I have 3 platinum field tickets burning a hole in my storage that I’m saving until I get at least 1-2 tradeskills to 30. Half the time I just farm my stronghold mats to keep repairing dispatch ships and craft fusion materials, as long as my energy isn’t capped and I’m content.

edit I even forgot to mention sailing co-ops, PvP, and other timed islands like Shangra.

This is the first region I’ve played LA so perhaps I could be more efficient, but If I’m feeling like there is still so much to do with how many hours I’m playing, why are more casual players complaining? The new content is there for everyone to get to eventually, but it was CLEARLY released this early for the whales and people with unlimited free time. That’s because they are the only ones that could possibly be progressed to a point where they needed something at their level.

The irony is Gold River said himself pre-launch “TAKE YOUR TIME”. As hypocritical as it is for me to say, there’s no rush. The game is only going to continue to improve as they adapt to our pacing, release those sweet QoL features KR has right now, and fully release the content we are missing. Gold River also said they would be releasing this content a month after launch, and the maintenance was scheduled from day 1 so it shouldn’t have been a surprise at all.

They released a version of the game completely unique in pacing from the other regions, and despite their best projections there will be issues to work through along the way. I’m not sure why some of the ilvl and materials requirements are so different from KR if they see success with that model, perhaps it was our own region’s idiotic beta feedback to make things more difficult and slower paced. Perhaps it was to incentivize more spending. Either way whales, streamers, and the unemployed will ALWAYS be ahead of me, and that doesn’t effect my gameplay in the slightest.

TL;DR I’m really enjoying my time, if you don’t find the content or combat engaging, perhaps this isn’t the game for you. If it’s just the honing chances bringing you down, sell your mats and buy them back for a fraction of the cost later, or hoard them until the success chances are increased then catch up in one fell swoop.

I know the foreign versions do perfectly well with these scuffed rates… But the game can’t survive in this market in that current form sadly. Love the game though.

They mucked that up but still think 1 class every 2-3 months is acceptable. It’s a clown show as usual.

So exactly this show that all you care about is money… Nobody should be surprised by this. But holy fuck you guys are fucking cheap. Imagine releasing content a month after the game is released while knowing that 95% of the playerbase wont be able to try it.

Cheap ass company

I’d say a good portion of these content updates is made by smilegate they just the publisher…

Should have just released Argos at launch. What pissed people off is this was going to be the first big update and they even made a trailer for it. Guess what? Only less than 1% of the players can do the content.

Next time just sneak it in like the gold rapport nerf without tweeting about it and making a trailer to get people excited.

It also didn’t help that you can’t keep your leaks contained. People see all the honing rates and what not, of course they are going to be expecting it to come.

Amazon are clowns.

We went under a 600k peak today…

Ooooft… Only time will tell when game become less than 500k concurrently…
I care for the game i love the game and i don’t want LA to be another dead MMORPG In the West…
Imagine keep losing player base due to RNG / high wall players had just had enough

Lets bring it lower with all the bans! Leggo!

This is the first time in my 15+ years of playing games online that I’ve ever been involved in a ban wave.

How does this stuff even happen?

Like you were banned or this is the first time you’ve heard of a ban wave?

nope i saw over 600k today so its fine at least from the community tab numbers.
