I mean it’s just long. It could be worst, like asking you to loot an item with a 1% drop rate. Or waiting for a boss to kill that spawns every 30 minutes and the drop that you need isn’t a guarantee. Or to complete an event that spawns every 3 hours for a drop that has a 5% chance of dropping/

its not a problem that he havent enjoyed some couple hours quest, problem is that he is crying about it on forum 
the quests was been dumbed down to speed leveling and overall way to t3 as they want us to catch up to KR version sooner than later 
Orginally speedsters would be maybe in half of t1 → t2 honing at this point

With that being said, I also found the 2nd awakening quest to be agonizingly long and tedious =(

It’s long but you only have to do it once. Alts that hit 600 i think it was ilvl get a mail to get the 2nd awakening. One and done even if its not fun, it’ll be over forever!

When you don’t actually explore, but have to stand in a circle for two minutes for absolutely nothing to happen, and every interaction along the way taking ~5 seconds of watching a bar go up with no animations or anything but ‘you have to wait for the next step’; there’s room to complain and still not want instant gratification.
Having a questline that evolves on the priest and demons is great, but why the fuck do I care about Ronika and spending 50 minutes infusing magick in a recipe some traumatized woman (because she made a mistake, like wtf dude) didn’t wanna do, so you spend more time convincing some weakass person to do what they should be doing… and not letting me progress the freaking story and having me interact - with the interaction (with nothing but a bar going up) taking ~5 seconds EVERY time - several times just to progress part of a story about people I dislike by principle… only to have to do 8 more interactions for next step, and repeeat ad libitum.
I’m not playing for instant gratification but I’m sure as heck not happy with spending 5 hours completing a questline where about 20 minutes of it is actually exciting to me. Most of this is just time gating who wanna waste their time and get even more into the sunk cost fallacy mindset. I’m going to complete it but only because I love the game for other reasons.
I love going for mokoko seeds and doing the sidequests, but when my actual progress is barred by a 6 hour sidequest (that’s not a sidequest really because you get a freaking skill) I get hella frustrated. Couple that with tyhe shit storyline about Ronika and I’m here annoyed people gatekeep spending time on actual shit questlines when the game has so much great content to offer. Starlight isle is one example of great storytelling.

Isn’t it funny how you now have a story to tell about the game ? Granted, it’s one where you were frustrated, but a story nonetheless…besides if you like doing mokoko seeds you can’t talk about inane gameplay because gathering those is about as exciting as watching paint dry.
But hey once you’ve done it once, you will have done it forever on every subsequent char (until they release new ultimates and attach them to another long quest chain xD)

Well, when Armen disappeard I wanted to know what happened next. Annika nothing, Arthetine nothing, Verne nothing, Shushire nothing, Rohendel nothing, Yorn nothing, Feiton nothing. Islands done so far and not much to do, so let’s do the rest of open quests.

It’s too long, full of unrelevant stuff and should have been cut down to the Armen parts, but I guess the story behind it is similar to the quest bs in FF14 between ARR and Heavensward: filler content released in tiny bits between 2 big patches to keep ppl playing. ARR to Heavensward took weeks to get trough, here it’s at least just some hours and you can go to Beatrice with your alts.

I dunno… I super enjoyed it. But I was invested in that storyline.
I think it’s longer and more fluff as it’s not nessecary to complete since you already have an awakening skill unlocked.
I’m sorry you felt this way and hopefully feel a bit differently about it now! It definitely encourages you to explore the world.

idk why people complain about this i just skipped it all watched the cinematics understand what it was about and moved on its not bad i did it in 2 days half and half took my time
I’ve been putting off the quest chain until I have a full day free and want to spend it just reading quest dialogue and watching cut scenes.
Might make some good snacks for the day, (some cranberry banana bread, nachos, veggie plate) and make a lil drinking game to spice things up.
I think this’l turn something tedious into a great memory
Its a long questline, but you only have to do it once ever unless you play multiple servers or regions
