Lol me not xd Red is dead.
Bahahaha. Ill keep and eye out for you then in case youre on my server. Dont wanna get caught slipping lol
Doubt anyone here is defending the crazy release schedule, that’s a valid argument but multiple points made by the OP are non sensical and have more to do with the genre and game design than the schedule.
It’s crazy how Koreans, RU and JP can survive months on an update and we’re all doom and gloom in a month when people who play more than a full time job’s schedule run out of things to do 'coz they don’t like alts, time gates or horizontal stuff.
Holy crap dude if dailies take that much you should look up a guide or something, you’re doing something wrong.
I can finish up 3 of my alts’ dailies in that time.
I do not rush, when I go to islands and I see pvp island I must go there and gank other players, between dailes I go to Arena, or visit other undiscovered before islands, mostly before I finish all my dailes I already played like 2-3 hours xd Sometimes I had situation when I wasted 2 hours fighting in pvp island xd
That’s 2 hours doing a bunch of stuff with dailies sprinkled in between.
Your post made it look like mere dailies take that long
Yea thats how I play this game xd As I understand your gameplay is a problem most of the players who treat this game as a job xd
A problem is that alts and horizontal/collection type play are both niche playstyles in the Western MMO market. The core of the Western MMO market is progression – it’s by far the most common reason people play MMOs. There are significant portions of the MMO playerbase here who also like a lot of alt play and who like collections/completionist/horizontal play, but those are both niches compared to the core that is progression-oriented.
Lost Ark really forces you to play those niche playstyles, whereas most players in this market are used to games that permit those playstyles and facilitate them but do not require them in order to further your progression or to enjoy the game for more than an hour or so.
It’s another aspect of the design of Lost Ark that isn’t a great fit for the Western MMO playerbase.
I do daylies on 4 Chars. Takes about 15 min. So what daylies are you talking about “taking forever”?
Same, just take it slowly would be the best way to explain the game. As if lately ive been pushing daylies etc because i realy want vitrue and some chars in T3 to try them in a more consistent way, but otherwise yeah your way to play sounds liek the healthier
I’m 400 too ( although a chunk of that is queue time due to EU servers) and I’m using only 1 char mostly. When I log in 1 do Una tasks, grand Prix, 2 X chaos, 2 X guardian, whatever is on the compass that day, cube etc if I have tickets and finally some islands and PvP if I have the time which I don’t quite often.
Maybe I’m not as efficient with my time in game as I could be but I also have a job so there’s that. If you’re playing 12 hrs+ a day and aren’t into collecting everything or PvP then I could see that ALTs are your only alternative but that’s the same for any mmo really.
If progression wasn’t time gated you’d be at max GS and bored anyway and left with alts. No MMO has enough PvE content to keep people that play all day and night busy unless they do PvP.
Depends which quests u choose near Punika u have 3 quests which u can under 10 minutes. Maybe he does not know which quests he should complete.
the game really only becomes alt friendly when you reach T3 and have enough gold so you can skip the story on alts. i have 4 alts but i don’t wanna do the story again on them so mats they can get is not as high. they cant help my main that is in t2 because my alts cant get to t2 before they do the story.
Yeah doing 8 x Chaos Dungeons instead of 2 x = 4x the fun
haha yeah its almost like if you play a game all day every day you’re bound to burn out rapidly, who could’ve guessed
Lol what? Professions take no time at all to level, so is that comparable to mokokos, which take longer to max out? Also, in WoW, many of the newer tiers of crafting profession leveling ARE time gated when you get toward the end of them. Also, the argument could be made that ALL gear progression in wow is heavily timegated since the only way to get upgrades after a short period of time is through your weekly vault. Your argument has so many holes.
Edit: I should also say, “welcome to the MMO genre.” You seem new to these types of systems, and you don’t seem to be fond of them. Maybe this genre just isn’t for you.
This isn’t Facebook, who cares.
Show me any MMO that doesn’t restrict gear acquisition daily / weekly somehow. Most major MMOs have weekly lockouts on the big gear gains. In Lost Ark it’s honing whereas in other MMOs you are hoping for a drop from a dungeon / raid or farming some mats for crafting gear from a dungeon / raid. Doesn’t mean it’s any different realistically.
If you don’t enjoy horizontal content, MMOs truly aren’t for you. I’ve played a lot of MMOs and I can’t remember a single one where you could infinitely grind gear (and if you actually could those games are usually even more grind-y / predatory with RMT than this game by a lot).
Also the entire post is a joke. If you’re at 1350 currently I get the frustration (I’m at 1340 and just decided to play horizontal stuff and level Alts), but anything below 1050 is seriously even less timegated than most other MMOs.
And sure some Island souls are time-gated but I SERIOUSLY doubt that he has all the others, let alone all the other collectables that aren’t time gated. If you truly have EVERYTHING except for the things locked behind daily lockouts, then bravo you played >1000 hours in a timespan where you physically didn’t have as many hours to play in.
And again, show me an MMO where you can do more than your daily quests, daily dungeon and weekly dungeon / raid before having to play alts or horizontal content. And before you list some MMOs that have no vertical progression - let’s not compare apples and oranges. I’m talking MMOs where you grind gear to grind better gear either by upgrading it or by doing harder content that is either soft or hard locked behind itemlvl in some form. (PoE and Diablo do NOT count for they are not MMOs)
If you don’t like how current MMOs operate then I’m sorry and good luck finding one that doesn’t adhere to a formula that has been in operation for well over a decade now. Why is it ok that in WoW you can only do your raids once a week / dungeons daily ? Or in Swtor ? Or in GW2 ? Or in FF14? The list goes on and on and on and it’s always the same story. Most progression content is locked behind some form of time gated content.
And let’s be honest here, most MMOs do not start and end with your daily / weekly lockouts. You usually have to grind something (mats for consumables, reputations, whatever) to stay competitive unless you just buy that stuff with RMT.
And hey, what about PvP ? You’re not locked behind anything there, you can improve as much as you want and play as much as you want.
So again, while I understand the frustration of players at 1350 with how we got Lost Ark in the west, anyone below that point is just jumping the bandwagon. And if you truly do NEVER intend to interact with horizontal progression, then this MMO simply isn’t for you (besides, you really only ever do horizontal things once so if you TRULY are done with everything, then I get that you may be bored because you literally only have your daily / weekly lockouts left, but NOBODY in the west is at that point no matter how much money they pumped into their account).
Just leave, your not married to it.
