A perfect game, a horrible company publishing it.

This is honestly the phrase that I think most defines the current state of Lost Ark. For me this game is a masterpiece Tripod Studio and Smilegate did a great job. It’s a super well optimized game (even being in Unreal Engine 3), the combat is super fluid, the story is excellent and the after 50 level content is fun.

Unfortunately I’m afraid that like Tera in Europe this game was delivered to a horrible publisher. They honestly don’t know what to do in terms of server maintenance, it seems they just want to know about American servers.

And do you know why this is ridiculous? Because we are not talking about any indie publisher that started 2 months ago, we are talking about Amazon, where the exact same thing happened with New World and they own one of the biggest cloud providers in the world, AWS.

As a person who works in IT, I can’t honestly understand your difficulty in increasing the capacity of servers, that when you are in cloud providers like Azure, AWS or DigitalOcean, the only thing you need to do is literally increase the number of nodes in the instances or give them more resources. And don’t even come to me with cost excuses, you literally own the infrastructure (AWS) and Amazon is one of the most profitable companies in the world.

So I leave this message to Amazon Games, you have everything technically to improve the servers, this is just a lack of will from your executives. But keep it up, and you will lose more than half of your players by the middle of this next week.

Exactly! Amazon don’t know sh** about games or even about their own servers (with which always are problems)…

AGS managed to kill New world in around 6 month…
any bets how long they will need to kill this one as well?
