When youâre demanding people to play the game your way, that is your specific style. How is this confusing?
If you cry when your mom makes chicken nuggets b/c you think she didnât cook them right? then she might tell you if you want to be a cry baby about how she made it, then make your own nuggies. This is b/c you like the nuggies a specific way, but still expect your mom to make it. So why donât you just make it yourself??
This is exactly what already happens if youâre matchmaking. This is also why people who donât want this make their own group, you know b/c they understand they canât control the playstyles of other people who donât fit their values.
I dunno how youâre confused. You canât truly be this dense to think that people will just do what you want them to do⌠I mean you either are trolling or just acting ignorantly.
Asking support to support is my specific style? Asking dps to dps is a specific style?
Asking firefigher to put out the fire is specific? like dude what are u on? these examples can go forever and u will still say its some1 specific style? Guess what supports are ment to support XD even in their name. âsupportâ
If u go for example on your main. lets assume its dps. on A raid. Ppl will want you to do dps? or to do what and its not anything specific style. If ppl ask you to use destruction on valtan is their specific style or its general how this raids work
The big problem is people are still expecting supports to primarily be healers instead of Damage Enhancers.
You donât take a support in lost Ark for healing unless you are pretty bad at dodging mechanics or want to save a few hundred gold per attempt on potions. You bring a support because they increase the total dps of a 4 man team by a significant amount more than a 4th dps would.
That said, support healing is great for people who donât play perfect, and lets be honest very few of us play perfect. It can heal up chip damage, and was essential on pre-legion raid encounters as is seen in Argos, specifically p3.
Yes, I want support not giving me heals when im full hp
I want Dps when there is time for dps
Ur right when i see that healing circle when boss is stagered and team is full hp im screaming and tossing things
sure, heals shield are great when they are needed. we all love them
But as i said seeing bards using heal when all are full hp or even better using heal when all are 100%hp and shielded is just smth else for me.
But i have my lesson from this forum that asking supports to support is my specific gameplay XD
Tbh yeah i agree lots of supports dont play optimally or straight up wrong. But they are needed and due to the lack of them we cant get to choose and pick.
I play a support and just do whatever I want. I grind every day. I donât want to try hard anymore and I just want to play casually when I farm content through my daily routine. Just do 2 guardians and dungeons. Play like usual I donât need to be a MVP God just top the party and quit to do other things. Iâm not going to spend effort for something I cleared hundreds of times. Just do the minimum call it a day and explore the world be it other games, going outside, or doing a hobby you like.
Then OP isnât addressing you, since you must be pretty low ilvl if you arenât doing legion raids or Argos at least. He just pointed out actual mistakes that supports apparently do.
I myself spam my attack buffs on Pally when clearing mobs before boss fight, just to get my identity up and because DPS one shot those mobs anyway, but during boss fight you should rotate.
Other 3 are also good points.
Something that OP didnât mention, there probably are also supports that have bad upkeep on their synergy skills (+10% party damage to boss).
What I been noticing playing DPS is that other support players dont do NOTHING at all as supports no matter what dungeon LOL. Iâm serious, its like âIm support so lets gooooooo just carry meâ
TBH a lot of support are just ALTS, ppl HAVE NO idea how and what to do!
The same was with me when I started to play paladin and that pushed bard to 1400.
I was thinking that it was easy just shield and sometimes heal but in reality it was a completely different story.
PPL dont know what to with support and DONT want to learn this is the reality!
Thatâs the sad truth, there are plenty of freshly rushed supports that seems to not know what theyâre doing. I was in Deskaluda raid with Paladin that did not use any awakening nor Godsent Law nor Holy Protection nor even Blessed Aura but was a sole follower of Holy Area, I was starting to think he came with his Chaos Dungeon build but suddenly wild Holy Protection appeared without reason to itâŚ
I will say, guys, play how you want your supports but if youâre in Vykas HM on ilvl team and there are still puddles before swamp I (as pala main and bard alt) give your buff abilities the Crow of Judgement.
As for topic in general since everyone nitpicked but nobody really shared:
My perfect rotation for start of the legion raids is Awakening, Wrath of God, Light of Judgment (if meter still needs filling), launch Blessed Aura, rotate attack buff with Heavenly Blessing, Holy Protection when major attack patterns happens and mokokos still stand in the way and Godsent Law under ass of very courageous grudge-mayhem-cursed doll zerker who is stuck charging his attack in the face of next bossâ attack. In meantime, Light shock for Bleed, Executorâs Sword and Holy Sword to smuggle some dmg/counter and thatâs it, plenty to do as Paladin in Legion Raid.
Nope, I usually donât pay attention to others, I only care about my own survival. And the only Pally friend I have, sadly is a DPS Pally main.
As a Bard main I usually try to be very conscious about no overlapping buffs, and use my awakening on every cooldown after getting Judgement to proc (Unless thereâs a special occasion like Vykas G3 for example). I also pay attention if my party needs more heals or more buffs.
BUT
I did notice with my Pally alt that I do often Overlap buffs or forget to us them when theyâre on cooldown, but thatâs because Iâm still not 100% used to play pally as I only created it like 2 or 3 weeks ago, and only recently managed to change from a full spec build to a full swiftness build.
My guess is that most people donât know how Supports work and the decision making behind using them, they just watch a guide on Maxroll, copy it and just play without knowing or caring what the skills do and how/when to use them.
For me is the other way around, I thought Pala was easier than bard, but it plays completly different.
The lack push inmunity on Pally doesnât make sense to me, like Pally is melee and Bard is ranged, so one would think Pally would have some or even more Push inmunity skills. Also filling the identity bar takes a bit more time unlike Bard, so the fact that that the awakening doesnât fill the bar unless you hit the enemy unlike Bardâs is bs.
I have Legendary and Epic Wealth runes, with Bard I can usually fill 1 bar in les than 15 secs (without awakening), with Palla it takes about 20 secs more or less. But maybe is a skill issue on my end.
