The same RNG that applies to almost every class in the game (specifically igniter sorc, the big 1 button op class is punished a lot by this)
Also comparisons are relative, in the same attempt with the same movement (almost) every members damage is gonna suffer or go up, depending on how much the guardian or raid boss stands still
Also this just really makes no sense at all, especially for guardians, you cant tell me that dps is not a relevant metric that differentiates between a 3 minute kungelanium kill and a 5 minute kungelanium kill
Wow, okay you have proven you have absolutely no fucking clue where damage actually comes from in this game, hilarious answer, thanks no further questions
Either enforce your ToS and start banning people or make it legal altogether so that everyone would start using and play around it.
Till now it was a niche tool on statics and hell community, which was fine. But now hm g5-6 pugs are plagued with it. Basement dwellers create unnecessary toxicity and gatekeeping over classes.
What about my suggestion (in another thread) about removing the enrage timer altogether (for non-inferno mode)? This would eliminate this whole “need” of a DPS meter outside of inferno mode.
I go over the details in my other thread regarding the potential benefits of such a change.
It helps but won’t solve the issue. Higher dps makes mechs multiple times easier. For example if you have high dps you can skip 11-11-6 meteor on g6 and have super easy meteor placements after shandi. In KR swiping is a very common thing. That’s why legion raids are so aids on ilvl. They want you swipe for actual fun experience. That’s the reason of tight enrage timer on a homework content. You should’ve never hit enrage with 7/8 people alive at the end. But I don’t expect much from this game. All of these are only problem if you don’t spend $.
I see, if that’s indeed the case, I might drop the game at some point in the near future. I don’t mind paying a little for a little progress, but being hard locked behind a paywall in the thousands because of tight DPS check isn’t something I want to be a part of.
You are crazy. For some, if not most of us, the fun is in the challenge, Granted, sometimes it’s way too hard on ilvl but then again, for those rare cases, hone a few taps and you’re gucci.
Even if that was truly the point of making the raids that hard on ilvl, it would backfire (as it did, judging by the player count decrease) sooner than not xD
I wouldn’t listen to this guy if I were you. All content is perfectly clearable on ilvl given you have correct engravings/stats/gems and are willing to spend some of your time actually learning the fight. Yet somehow a lot of forum warriors reckon that learning is never an option and the game simply extorts money from them.
The balance is pretty simple here - the more gold you can throw at your character less experience you need to clear any raid. But then again, if everything is made trivial because you overgeared it, where’s the fun at? Do you find 5-minute valtan runs fun?
DPS isn’t meant to compare between different classes but to see who is actually slacking or doesn’t know how to play their class.
You are NOW getting gatekept before you even have a chance to play based on uncertainty/risk factor like roaster level, class, etc… With a DPS meter I might actually start accepting some people more at least for one run to see if they can keep up.
Just because in some games you had some idiot scream at you for doing 1% less damage doesn’t mean that guy wasn’t an idiot and it doesn’t mean that is the purpose of a DPS meter
DPS meter is extremely helpful during progress later it just becomes something to challenge yourself with if you want to or to improve yourself.
I hope you understand that GoldRiver already stated its a bannable offense. No exceptions.
The use of a DPS meter brings toxic mentality to the game. The game itself is heavily gatekeeping towards specific classes and a DPS meter solidifies/reinforces that toxic behavior.
You can always flip your statement. Many of the things that a toxic person uses can it turn become toxic. I don’t even need to go far for an example: we already have in-game chat after a couple of raid wipes where people go ham at it. Does it mean that the chat function brings toxicity and should be removed from the game?
It’s not the chat function, but the human nature and you cannot change that
Everyone would feel frustrated after 20 wipe, don’t you think? ^^
What I wanna say is, ppl with power would use that power, ppl with dps meter would use it only to gatekeep others and that would always result in toxicity
That is precisely the point. So why do we have chat that could be used to be toxic but not DPS meter? What’s the significant difference between the two?
Also on the chat note, some games do try to remove chat. Haven’t played in a while but I believe global chat is not a feature in MOBas anymore (at least in HOTS). Some other games go even further, like imagine hiding your kill count in an FPS game, because it is toxic.
I would take that gatekeeping over trixion numbers/ilvl gatekeeping any day. If you are to gatekeep someone based on DPS meter it means you have to let them in and give them a chance to play. Also seeing numbers from the actual raid might help the most stubborn people realise how insignificant the difference in 10/20 ilvls is.
Lol, its far from insignificant. Just because you can deal more dmg with 20 ilvl less than someone, doesnt make thr difference in dmg insignificant. It just means you were that much better
