Very limiting on what it will allow me to post so without killing with paragraphs here is the TL;DR
I have now tracked 211 different Dispatch Missions and recorded the results to see if there was a trend to prove what adaptation actually does. Based on my findings, adaptation has nothing to do with the end result of dispatch missions. Below are two graphs that summarize the data. I provided links to my in-depth dive post I made on Reddit, and the spreadsheet I am actively tracking this on.
Upvoted, this needs some in-depth clarification. Dispatch adaptation is a major resource sink when it comes to all upgrades/npcs you can have and at this point it’s a struggle to find whether it gives any form of bonus at all. Discussed it earlier with my guild mates and everyone had the same experience with both marginally low and high adaptation percentages giving similiar/same results.
Personally i’ve invested a lot of resources into adaptation (30 stronghold members and counting) believing it will improve stronghold economy in the long run. I do believe it is a bug which would mean that we have lost a lot of potential income.
I’ve achieved tons more s ranks from 50% and below than my 150% dispatches. I usually get B rank with 150%, it makes no sense. I just stopped caring after awhile.
Same. I’m up to level 30 with my Stronghold, got different pets for adaptation, have many dispatch members Epic and above, grinded tomes for additional adaptation. Lots of time, resources, and some RL money for effectively nothing.
So, the last 7 dispatches I sent were empty ships with 0% adaptation. 3 came back B, 3 came back A and 1 came back S. There is NO WAY adaptation actually affects the outcome right now.
Here is a good Example of adaptation clearly not working correctly. 146% adaptation and B result. if this is working as intended, can we get clarification has to what the point of adaptation impacts on missions?
Yeah, it would be nice to get some clarification. Finally had my account long enough to post pictures. Hopefully the graphs will help everyone understand quicker what I’m trying to whistleblow here, haha.
@Roxx Could we get some clarification on how adaptation work? Is it suppose to increase the chance at higher rank completion? Is it suppose to only increase the amount of loot we get from whatever rank we achieved?
The amount of loot you get is based only on the Seal:Hour ratio beforehand and the ranking of your mission at the end. Consistently it is B 100%, A 120%, S 150% + the tradable items for seals. So yeah, getting confirmation on what adaptation does would be good!
i have put quite a bit of resource into my dispatch crew and can frequently do 150%. Recently nearly all my crews come back B rank. something is definitely wrong
From my experience adaptation means how much your ship gets damaged when it returns from mission… If you have 150% adaptation it should be intact.
I had B rank results with adaptation 150% and SS rank result with adaptation 43% so it’s not linked to result like at all, probably another botched translation.
Even if that was the case which I think people would have noticed, that is def not what it tells you ingame. It only mentions have a higher chance at higher rewards.
The issue is, that rewards are tied to Rank. So if high adaptation = high rewards (it doesnt but ingame it says it does) then one assumes that adaptation raises the rank. It’s just putting two and two together. Except there isn’t anything to put together cause it just seems to do nothing at all. Not even higher rewards for same rank. At least not visible anyways.
Was just coming to report something similar after getting rank b with 150% adaptation - glad to see it has already been reported. Not shocked to see that it has received zero response.
@Roxx can we please get some attention here? Topic includes actual research about a potentially broken feature in game and did not get any attention for over a month. If that is a case the bug affects every player’s horizontal progression speed.
