If the bot is banned before it manages to sell gold, you’ll have paid for all the captchas that were solved until the ban. But as the other user said, it depends on the captcha as well, but I don’t think they’ll use one that is too simple, otherwise that’s no point on make this, it’d only ban the people that are not bot farms (since these should try to make ways to solve the captcha) xD
captcha is not as hard to solve as you think, most consumer level computers can handle it. And even when they can’t, nowadays with cloud services you can incorporate calls to remote servers to handle issues.
So basically whoever is selling/creating these bots people are using would have the app send info to a cloud service, which would do the heavy lifting.
you think people are homebrewing these bots?
I think the idea of an antibot measure that uses human learning to work isnt a horrible idea, but if you are going to put into a game, it needs to be more subtle and less intrusive. As some other people suggested, i would also tie a reward to it instead of just a penalty, and it would need to actually be entertaining. I realize thats unlikely since this is a localized game, and a localized issue, so i wouldnt expect them to do that.
that said, thats not the only solution to bots. Many other games do not have this level of bot issue. I dont know exactly how they achieve this, but it is clearly far from impossible.
NO, ive seen A BUNCH of legit players using bots in Punika farming adventure tome mats so NO this need to be 24/7 doesent matter the account.
Unacceptable Even 1 time a day, bots solve those faster and Better (ask nvidia “latest and greatest” AI developers on captchas preventing bots from buying all the video cards) further more for accounts with Amazon prime, 2fa 8+ years on steam and with 50k+ royal cristals loaded.
imagine taking youur boat doing captcha enter island enter captcha leave the island for join boat captcha again enter to city for some honning captcha go to stronghold research captcha again.
Demn that look kinda boring no ?
I think only 3% or less of botters use such smart programs, mostly is macro or yhe most popular pixel bot xd They will never solve captcha. Those programs which van solve captcha for you are not free.
Disabling the system for those who bought Founder’s Pack? That’s actually a genious idea
the next move is renaming game from "lost ark " to “lost captcha”
I mean, I didnt buy any founders pack but I got 50k royal cristals on my account so screw that
Its a macro and pixel bot killer. We dont know how this will be annoying we know nothing tbh and people complaning. Goshh kids.
The problem is that many “old accounts” use or used infinite Chaos Dungeons bot programs so no one should be exempt from CAPTCHAs.
I’m assuming it will be very targeted at players switching zones very frequently, like running chaos over and over.
Will be interesting to see if the average player ever gets asked for it.
No, this is only for old accounts
“old account”? I started lost ark on day 1 and my steam account has Well over 10 years, but I dont give money to companies before I know if I like the game, I didnt VIOLATE ToS in other regions Lost Ark servers to play, I waited all this years to properly play the game and I dont accept that bullshit
They can send a captcha to their moms
Disappointed, I was expecting something more imaginative… like instead of Captcha do the Vykas typing mini-game instead and anyone who gets it right has their account deleted for being a bot. ![]()
This is the disappointing thing for me, last weekend there were players/bots/afk farming the bear in sushire all 24/7. Not especially complicated macro just stand in a spot and spam abilities. I reported them on friday night, logged in saturday and they were still there, reported them again, same 3 characters. Logged in sunday and thought great they had gone, so i could farm the bear for tome for a bit, but they soon logged in again and started again sunday morning.
Dissapointing that obvious marcro/bot use was reported not once but twice and clearly hadn’t even been looked at within 3 days of the report. These sort of easy low hanging fruit should not be hard to ban.
You past a lot of time here for have no humour at all? Or I have to put emote so you now it’s humour?
“Sometimes” can mean a lot of things. For all we know it can be entirely random.
You’re right, it could be. I have never seen captcha implemented that way in games before tbh.
hahaha… i love how all the botters are panicking right now… good job on the botting preventive captcha… love it…
