Berserker mayhem has a low barrier to entry to be effective. DB is pretty easy to execute as well. Those would be good choices for an alt. Gunslinger has more of a learning curve so it depends if you’re up for that.

They’re very good for solo, but Zerkers tend to be a bit on the selfish side because they typically offer very little to the party besides his own damage while benefiting from all the party synergies himself.
Also worth noting that Zerkers are insanely overtuned at lower optimization levels (i.e., legendary accessories, 3333 and lower, unoptimal tripods, lower level gems, etc) which we’re at currently. They tend to get balanced out at higher levels of optimization.

Also note that Mayhem Zerk, GS, and DB are all slated for balance tweaks soon TM. The first batch of changes are going to hit the KR test server this month. This is the first of three or so phases of balance tweaks slated for the year, and these changes are supposed to be fairly big.

GS is one of the most expensive classes. I do not recommend it as an alt at all unless you just have the gold for it.

I’m deathblade main at late t3 [ in our content ] and what can i say , deathblade is amazing and rly fun to play , it’s fast paced dps and kinda easy to play when u’re going Remaining energy build but if u would like to easly get mvp in early stages of this game surge is a rly good option for that [ since re scales rly hard and need a lot of investment to compete with surge] but u’ll be annoyed everysingle time when your surge won’t crit or u don’t get your back attack , class bases on back attack and engraves like grudge/cursed doll so there’s huge chance that u will have a floor pov [ unless u’ll take your time to master this class]. I did solo velganos at 1385 but yeah it took me alot of time before i learned everything about this boss cause playing with grudge kinda hurts af on this boss.Also count that it’s not the best class for weakpoints and stagger so u have to have granades for that with you
Also i have a gunslinger as an alt but it’s in late t2 so can’t tell u much but it’s kinda fun class to smash your buttons on keyboard with your face. The only thing i hate in this class and makes me to quit this alt is that u have to fully channel/cast your shotgun and sniper skills and u can’t cancel then without using a dodge.

Watch a video on their engravings and play style. All of them can be carry dps when played right and properly.
I get that you wanna be the carry but fun is the most important. I was playing my sorc a long time bevause I was always mvp and she was my highest gear but damage doesn’t beat boring
As already stated, can’t recommend Gunslinger in it’s current form, execpt to have fun with it as an alt (like me):
- Take too much investment to be competetive
- Not the easiest class to get into due to it’s high APM & gunswapping playstyle, but I wouldn’t take that as a clear negative, i didn’t had any real issues to adapt to it, just takes some time, still worth mentioning imo
- Takes tons of boss experience to not fall flat because of the high amount of animation locks (atleast in guardian raids, abyss dungeons didn’t feel as punishing, prolly cause the abilities are easier to read)
- Highest threat generation amongst all current classes (at least what I was able to surveil with my ~100 guardian kills on Gunslinger alone) makes the animation lock issue even worse
If you like the high APM playstyle (I do) and you’re really just looking for an alt to have fun with you should’nt be too discouraged by its current state - upcoming balance changes should atleast treat it’s early/midgame lack of dmg + the chaos dungeon clear is amazing imho, think only Scrapper has more consistent aoe clear than Gunslinger.

If they do anything to GS with the upcoming balance, it’ll be a nerf not a buff. It’s top 3 dps in KR rn
I Main surge deathblade and i got mvp pretty often but i don’t know how hard nerfs will hit us.
Any way surge deathblade is fun to play cause surge hits millons of damage and crit dobles those millons.
I don’t think she will be easy to pull of in legion raids but seeing those big numbers feels so satisfying.
As for the engravings you need surge lvl 1 (class engraving)
Grudge lvl 3 (everyone run this)
Master of ambush and Adrenaline
And you should be fine? I guess
i have a zerker alt and it just feels good to play
you are fairly tanky and your skills pump out numbers
Zerker main here. 1400 ilvl, 3x3 engravings (Grudge, Master’s Tenacity, Mayhem). Completely F2p. Never paid a single IRL money for honing upgrades. I’ve been MVP 8/10 matches. Completely destroying other dps classes in PVE content. You just have to use your skills wisely as they have long cool downs and you gotta make sure your skills hit. Definitely playable as an alt imo. The only time my MVP gets taken away is when a support is really good. shout out to the good supports :). Absolutely a fun class to play. Giving supports anxiety with the Mayhem build

You trolling using grudge over cursed doll on mayhem especially when valtan comes out
LA is all about experimenting on engravings and skill sets. If it doesn’t work, you change it. Calling me a troll for playing grudge over cursed doll instead of providing a detailed explanation or calculation of cursed doll vs grudge doesn’t help buddy. Who knows? I might be working towards a cursed doll AND grudge build to a 4x4 engraving set. Don’t say anything if you don’t have anything nice to say. We’re all learning here.

Grudge too harsh of penalty on mayhem especially after you change the dmg reduction card set out for dps set. Gonna be 1 mistake = dead sorta deal with legion raids, cursed doll is basically free on mayhem at cost of 2-3% less dmg over grudge but you’ll see what I’m talking about sooner or later

Ya, mayhem has other options besides grudge, other classes don’t. Raid captain after cursed doll will give another free 18% dmg on zerk then u can either do keen blunt, master ambush, or grudge if u want as 5th engravin

fr though, as a bard it’s hard to know when you are just fine and when you need heals. A good point to be made is that I should pick up zerk just to learn this distinction for my main bard raids.

No they won’t cuz we won’t bother with changes that are exclusively meant for korean t3 content/powerlevel.
State of right now on western region servers: Gunslinger is too scuffed in low/mid tier & takes too much investment to get it to a point where it starts shining to be recommended as an alt (except fun is everything you’re about).
Have to give Aldori credit on that. Everyone auto’s to Grudge cuz it was blindly recommended in pretty much every popular class guide, classes like Zerk or Gunlancer do more harm running Grudge than Cursed Doll - both are classes which don’t really bother with the heal reduction.
Deathblade main here, idk if this thread is still active. But deathblades are usually high reaction based. Especially if you want to go surge blade, (getting your stacks up can be difficult for some). We have alot of mobility and have really high potintal damage but some people could easily find the playstyle to be frustrating. Its also not that great for solo guardians, it can be done dont get me wrong but its more difficult than zerker.
If you’re looking for a class with survivability and damage id recommend zerker. Class has pretty good weak point skills, Mobility is pretty good. Only difficulty ive found is the animation locks, but eventually you get used to them and learn when and when not use them. Its a straightforward class for the most part.
