Word, I did 3 weeks of Vykas normal and was getting the hang of that and then unlocked hard mode and had to get the hang of that for the last 2 weeks. I feel a lot more confident about next week though.
Awe sadge, If you were on East I’d say we can run next weeks together, we always have room for new folks.
What @redsprite000 said isn’t wrong, learning Clown is useful early on and getting your Lv2 set is a bonus, but it isn’t a requirement. By the time Brelshaza comes out you’ll likely be able to pick up the Gate 3 box for free to help catch you up, especially if you found yourself a static to run with each week.
Even if you don’t have Lv2 set, you’re a Bard. Nobody gatekeeps supports regardless lol.
But if you were forced to choose between pushing to 1475 or getting a couple alts to 1415-1445 I would choose the alts, it’s more overall value to you, more raid lockouts you can run, more chances at relic drops, etc. But alts aren’t cheap and the DPS gatekeeping in Valtan/Vykas Normal is insane… so I suppose it comes down to who you are playing with and if you find yourself in PF hell.

I don’t think he’s really forced since the cost from 1470-1475 is almost nothing. The 2.7k gold isn’t a huge loss he can make some of it back doing 4 man busses if he’s that desperate. The easy choice is to just go 1475.
Clown is different because the time to learn could be obscene for some people so you’re not gonna get accepted outside of learning parties. Right now there are still a good amount of those. Can’t say the same in a few weeks.
Also remember he’s in NA West they have even less players than east so learning parties might be way less compared to ours.

Gawd is the gatekeeping ever bad for dps… Just got two alts to 1415 and cleared Argos on one but it took a while to find a group and the second one I still have not found a group that will take me… Not to mention Valtan/Vykas I will never get into those on a DPS until I am like 20-30 item level higher than the raid lol…
I thought I would have no problem with Argos at 1415 and have to ride the bus for Valtan but it seems 1430 is minimum for alts to be effective.
My whole roster is cracked, but one of my alts is 1415 as it’s just a placeholder for AYAYA so I get to experience the fun that is 1415 Valtan NM PF each week and it is honestly a riot lol

Not to mention, actually getting into clown groups is exceedingly difficult. As a support its easier obviously, but for us DPS its next to impossible if you aren’t 1495+ with title.
I do not doubt it at all… Kind of regret making 4 main DPS alts, feeling like I shoulda made at least one or two more bards lmao…
I’m the type of player who wants to try all the different classes and see how they feel. This game appeared on the surface to be a game that promoted that but it turned out not to be the case really.
Not to mention needing 300k just for class leg books per toon at some point lmao

I’d push the main to 1475. You’d actually gain a lot from 1475 chaos dungeon, and you’re only two more honings away from 75.

Lots of people simply didn’t run Clown the first week, or had some outside circumstance.
I lost first week due to hurricane Fiona, which means even though I am clearing clown 4 times a week on my roster, I still get gate kept for being 1 upgrade behind others.
Also continued honing is a thing. Mains & Alts both are reaching 1475 every day and they are going to be in PF. You don’t get to start out as maxed Lv2 set and new players have to learn.

the “wrong” thing is that i dont have 30 hours to learn anything for now, with argos we had no option but to lean, with valtan we had no option but to learn, with vycas we had no option but to learn, not the case with clown where if you try to learn you lose a ton of gold and in my casenot only the raid gold but by dedicating time to learn i can not do my other activities missing even more…
I generate a day like 30k gold and im not gonna lose that, the cost of learning for me is too high…
that said, last night did g1 and g2 in a learning party with datmodz and we gonna finish g3 today, then i can go and clear with all my other 5 toons and once i can clear full clown like nothing ill hone my whole 12 toons roster to 1490

I disagree.
- The box you are mentionning definitely worth their price in terms of materials. You’re not only buying the trumpets, you also buy a bunch of leapstone, shards and destruction/guardian stone.
- The bidding at the end have a guarantee legendary book that CAN be class engraving (unlike Valtan) and is shared into 4. Clown biddings can range from 1000g up to 5000g if you get lucky.
- Pushing main to unlock more content is never a bad idea. You play for fun after all.
Pushing all your roster to 1445 right away without even unlocking Clown is not a good idea, it’s the best way of getting your bored/burned out of the game.
Now that this is said, I must put that DISCLAIMER in : Clown is demanding content and it’s 4man. The way this encounter is design, especially G3, makes it so that you can’t get carried by your teamates, unlike in Valtan and Vykas. In Clown you have to do the job and if you don’t it can quickly become a time consuming + frustrating activity. So be mindful that pushing 1475, you now have to do Clown and if you can’t clear G3 you will loose a bunch of golds (since in that case you can remove the bidding from the picture).

- G1-G2 are easier than Vykas G1
- G1 can be carried by 2 DPS
- G2 can be carried by 2 DPS after Maze
- G3 If you are giga chad can skip M4 or M3/4
- G3 can use Wei if fail M4 stagger continue fight to bingo 1 man down or 2
- G3 Bingo can be cheesed solo by 1 person even a bard
I forgot think u get 2500g which isnt a lot.
A 6 man 1460 roster can make 70-90K gold from raiding
They can then make another 70K gold from selling mats
then another 5K-10K from unas
From above if cant do Kakul 2 times per week just losing out 5K x 20K per month
