It’s a joke this problem is only getting worse and more inconvenient.
I can’t believe the whales are still supporting this dogshit company. I’ll never play another game that prioritizes whales over the rest of the community. This is pathetic and whales are 100% to blame for not holding AGSmile to any standard whatsoever.
And then you see posts like “I can’t buy royal crystals help” or “where’s the 100$ skin pack?”
its an issue with EAC , apex is having the same issue atm where its not closing after the game actually was closed.
it seems to be intermittent so im guessing EAC knows but yeah

AGS chooses to be cheap and use this awful freeware. They choose to continue using it, even though it is completely ineffective and has been causing issues for 6 months.
This is not EAC’s fault. We don’t pay EAC. We pay AGS and Smilegate.

it dont matter who you pay the cause of it is outside of their control , all they can do is report it to them to resolve same way apex is having to do it.

This is technically correct. It is not EAC’s fault the game and EAC do not play well together, but at the moment it is SG’s and EAC’s problem to see if they can make it play well together.
If they cannot, the only solution is to drop EAC, which I assume EAC doesn’t want since they make money from this project I am sure.
AGS cannot fix the issues between SG and EAC, it’s in-game problems.
The actual servers themselves are fine, you aren’t dropping from the game to a downed server list every hour. You are being kicked to character or server select, still connected to the servers but disconnected from the game.
Doesn’t work in some cases.

You paypigs trying to let AGS and Smile off the hook are THE ONLY REASON they continue to steer the game directly down the drain. Hold them accountable you pathetic whales.
AGS chooses to use EAC which has been causing people to frequently disconnect for SIX MONTHS. The obvious solution is to stop using the ineffective and awful freeware EAC, and pay for a real anti-cheat or pay to develop one themselves.
There is NO EXCUSE to use a third party software for six months, which only causes issues, and refuse to pay for something functional. This is 100% on AGSmile and the whales who continue to pay for their terrible service.

If the game freezes, try alt+f4 (universal kill in windows). If THAT doesn’t work, open up the run menu (win+r) and use taskkill /f /im lostark.exe
Yeah, to be fair, EAC is clearly not effective at all. There’s legions of bots all over the place, my characters get gold sell mail spam daily, and bots are even invading things like boss rush pugs now.
But I 1000% agree that it’s caused nothing but headaches for normal players. Practically every disconnect I see is in a raid or dungeon. I can stand around all freakin’ day long in town and have no disconnect, but the moment I’m doing anything important BAM random disconnect with an EAC error. To hell with this, it’s time for them to remove it.
If eac goes away what would you guys recommended in the market for another ac ? cause there is not many to work from and some get even more intrusive.

Now if they go the route and somehow decide to make a in house anti cheat they would have to hire and start building it so your asking for the game to be left without anything for months maybe even a year.
Now EAC itself has to be maintained which ours sadly is not thats why it looks so meh
and as for the pay comment , the whole community is not going to stop paying to enjoy their game if their not having issues because of a group of people are having them
The newest EAC issue that users are experiencing today (including the OP) doesn’t let you force close the client even in the task manager. It forces you to restart your entire PC.
Happened to me upon launching the game today.
It never even made it to server select. I couldn’t relaunch because “The process is still running” but access was denied trying to force close through task manager. After reading this thread I restarted PC to resolve the issue.

Well that is wonderful news 
It’s still a game code issue, not a server issue however. When you get back from your reboot the servers themselves are still up.
LA NA is just a butchered to death client and EAC is a garbage can wrapped around the client. In no way I am saying that AGS are not at fault for a great many things sorrounding all of this, but the truth is it comes down to does SG care enough to invest the developmental efforts into solving the problems or not.
What to replace EAC with? Don’t replace it with anything. It doesn’t work. Client-side anti-cheat systems have NEVER worked, in any game, ever. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter if it’s kernel level or user space. People with incentive to bypass it will bypass it. Clearly it’s not preventing botting, how’s that? The botters have likely reverse engineered everything they needed to, including EAC, to get around it.
These days it is TRIVIAL to decompile a binary into code that could still be looked through, analyzed, and re-compiled as needed. Sure, it’s against TOS, but so is botting, and that’s never stopped them before.
You need to be able to detect things server-side. Full stop. That’s the only possible way to effectively handle these things.
