really? i see GW2 more freemium and Wow too than this game. At least Lost ark allows you to play the whole content without paying one single dime or quarter

I play GW2 with no problems, I bought all expansions. I knew that this game is b2p and I bought it. Lost Ark was marketed as free to play. And it should be free to play.

Fine, if you want to go down this road:
They (as in Amazon/AGS/Smilegate) don’t charge you anything at all.
They have implemented a verification process via Steam for some very limited functions of the game. And Steam uses account transactions for this verification process. Steam doesn’t charge you for this actively either.
So if you have such a huge problem with “false advertising”, please feel free to file a lawsuit against AGS, but I think we all know how this will turn out, don’t we?
So in the end it just comes down to “i want to rant”. Because as you can pretty clearly see /this rant thread and other rant threads about the same topic), most people don’t share your opinion. And you start accuse them of being trolls…
If you’d rather give your Social Security Number (btw far more valuable than 5$) or so to try to mitigate the bot problem (mitigate, not eradicate, bots/gold sellers will always be there), fine. Please do so. Or keep on ranting and ranting and ranting, or simply stop playing.
There will never be a solution where there are no bots in the game and with any mitigating measure there will be people, that don’t want this. People suggested that chat should only be available from lvl 30/35up, it was implemented, people started ranting about it. New measures to detect/ban/delete bots got implemented and the news clearly stated that there will be some false positives…people started ranting. Now we have another feature/way to try and deal better with the bots. Well guess what happens…

The issue with steam trusted is that it only works after 30 days so people who are having issues now are still going to have them after the purchase if they so choose to do. I’m not sure how bad the limitations actually are. I never had to send an email in-game neither did I trade with anybody so I’m not sure how bad it is.

The limitations are minimal as was discussed in this and several other threads.
But people are already spreading “fake news” about things they can’t do, which is not true and has nothing to to with the Steam verification.
Like I said before: people just want to rant and be upset about something.

Don’t worry, lot people will follow your footstep. This game is going to the same circle as any other KRmmoRpg. The playerbase will drop down to like 50k after 3-4 months.
Buy a $5 game on Steam to play with some friends man, ffs.
Trusted its a steam system, you cant add friends if youre not trusted in steam (Happened to me on csgo), dont make a drama out of it
So it’s ok for you to buy 3 expanions (30$ each on launch) on GW2 but 5$ for a trusted account on steam is too much.
Game remains F2P as long as you can play it freely, even with restrictions, just like GW2, SWTOR and countless other F2P games with restrictions.
Once again, you’re making a big scene over 5$ in a 19 year old platform. The trusted function is used by multiple games, including the most played F2P game in all of steam’s history, you’re just whining to create drama.

Yea, I don’t see a reason anyone should care if you leave or not. If $5 being spent on Steam is breaking this game for you, that’s not a game problem, that’s a you problem. Would be different if they made you spend $5 on a specific game, but they aren’t.

You are right. I know they are trying to stop bots etc. But charging money to prevent it, is a “No” right away for me.
They start with that excuse then it will be requested for every games out there sooner or later. Thay means for any game people buy the devs after that will request players to spend money on the platform the game is played on as a excuse to stop botting.
Because lets face it, it starts with free to play then it will be b2p and then subs games, etc. Plus the fact that games in general will start to cost even more because hey why not peoples spend left and right at anything they are whales.

Edit also don’t try to discredit we have proof with founders pack etc. It started the same way and with whales protecting that practice in the same way.
…so if you’re saying reducing one or two social functions makes the game B2P, then obviously you’re saying the only things you did in Lost Ark was open trades with other players, and send other players mail with items or gold attached, right?
