AGS posted on article a few days ago where they brag about their Lost Ark player numbers. Similarly, Smilegate has done the same.

Of course, when accused of being slow to act on bots because the bots make player numbers look good, Roxx said:
we specifically have not shared any celebrations of numbers of accounts or characters made because we know bots are an issue that are skewing our numbers
I guess something changed with the bots… oh wait no the problem is worse than ever before.
Don’t expect bot issues to get fixed anytime soon I guess, AGS and SG clearly enjoy the high numbers.
Remember that nothing has been done about bots outside of a vendor change that happened 2 weeks late in the past ~2 months. The numbers just go up and up. The last thing before that was a VPN ban the bots circumvented in like 4 hours, and the steam trusted restrictions in March.
Just remember the CMs are paid to pacify the players through any means including ignoring problems and straight up lying, they just have the $$$ in mind.
Well, they’re not wrong the launches were successful. The long-term for new world though… That wasn’t good. Either way, a game like this could’ve hit 10 million players but there’s a difference between hitting 10 million players overall and having long-term players. Some people turn the game on then off after like 15 minutes and some play for a long-term which is what matters.
Either way, the quote around the “success” of the launches is from a person of disruptive studios not AGS who Disruptive studios is partnering with. It’s PR talk for their new partner.
What you said has nothing to do with the fact that Roxx said they are not celebrating player numbers because the player numbers are inflated with bots, and then AGS/SG are both celebrating and advertising the player numbers.
Yeah, not surprised the executives would release numbers after plans change a month after that comment to show off.
EDIT: You guys really think too much when it comes to this crap. who gives a crap about if they are bragging. What matters is if they don’t fix the botting problem. No real investor will invest in something like this that’s bot infested until they have raw data that shows the playerbase to bot ratio. If they do, those investors are dumb.
Do you realize how big of a company Amazon is? I wouldn’t be surprised if Roxx didn’t even know that marketing site for AGS existed. Just because it’s a part of the same umbrella to the public’s eye doesn’t mean they are even closely related, or communicate regularly with other teams belonging to the same company.
