Basically, they gave us 1 region and you guys 2. Not sure why, as every other big game or MMO on the market has very similar populations across the US and EU. Even their own game does…
This means our whole region is overloaded as we’ve got one region, but pretty much the same population as both of your regions. There’s a few severs that apparently don’t have huge queues then a majority that have 4-8hr+ queues. Once you get passed the queue, none of the in game mechanics like matchmaking for raids, dungeons etc work. Even solo queuing doesn’t work at times, but no co-op content is doable out with first thing in the morning and after 11.30pm at night. It’s not just laggy, it doesn’t work because of the overload.
They’ve now dropped server capacity (it seems) and decreased the queue intervals, so there’s now a queue from 10-11am in the morning on weekdays, which there wasn’t before. This has made the game a bit more playable I would say, I’ve gotten some matchmaking done but not much. They aren’t responding to questions about if they’ve done this, 10am queues just starting one morning after maintenance and haven’t stopped.
Unfortunately nobody who works normal hours, and has paid for actual real stuff on their server can get on to play. If they manage, they can’t do anything besides collectibles. Fun for some, not the point in the game for a lot of people though. They are blocking their potentially biggest paying customers here.
There’s no refunds, no solutions, they don’t seem to actually know how to solve the issue and if people move to the new region, they lose any money they’ve already spent, and get a sub par founders pack. They are ignoring threads about the outfits not being dyable anymore, being miss-sold and the twitch drops among other things. People are understandably annoyed.
People have had enough time to get their friends onto the servers already, but even when there’s 20k queues on some servers, they won’t lock them and stop more people and bots from joining them. The bots are rife now.
I’ve been in a queue since 2pm today and I’m halfway through, so from 2pm in the afternoon it takes 4 hours to get in and I’m not on a ‘streamer’ server. It will only be worse for anyone at 6pm onwards.
AGS have said they are working on it but currently have no ideas, no solutions, don’t know how to combat any of the problems and are ignoring most threads about other things like dye cosmetics etc. They’ve said they couldn’t give out powerpasses so that people at least don’t have to level on the new region, a lot of people would have moved for this, a lot. They’ve said this doesn’t work on a first character. This works on the other regions just fine however, so this information seems inaccurate. Personally, I think we’ve passed another weekend, and this no longer is enough anyway, people want to move less and less the longer this takes.
Some people who have moved to EUW or just don’t like the complaints, are complaining that people are complaining and telling them it’s a F2P game, they shouldn’t have spent money.
This is just silly, because people have to spend money for the game to exist. If no founders packs were bought, Amazon probably would have cancelled launch. They are in it to make profit, not to provide a nice F2P game for everyone at their own expense.
As there’s no regional pricing, for some people in Europe, 1 platinum founders is half their monthly wage. Outfits etc are way more for some than other. It’s hard for people to move when they’ve invested this much. It’s not wrong that they chose to do this, I’ve never had a game launch where the paid products were so messed up, that they shouldn’t have been bought at all. Just the normal queues and issues in the first few weeks, which anyone would have expected.
These companies usually have some sort of fix as time goes on, AGS don’t have any yet because they only gave one region to EU.
