They should just perma ban them.
punishment for rmt shouldn’t be a ban, it should be every privilege you have in the game should be revoked
no trade, no auction house, no marketplace, no una rewards, literally no drops or rewards from dungeons or characters that way you have to either ditch your account or create a new one and just being able to log into your account that you RMT’d on be a daily reminder of how pathetic you are to cheat and think you’re hot $hit because you have all this high level gear and gems

also you should get a cheater title and anyone who parties with you also gets no rewards and drops that way people avoid them like the plague and like some games you should also get a watermark permanently across your screen that says cheater so if you stream it’s just even more entertaining for your viewers

Well idk. One mmo i did play for a while did it since release.
I think it kinda worked, the list got always shorter.
But they really punished Sellers and Buyers. Which Ags dont do, thats problem #1.
And they stopped doing this in 2019. Idk if they fought enough the bots, so it was not worth anymore. Or the game population got to small.
Dont play it since some years for reasons, like players suffer because of the fight against bots, with trade limitations , market limitations etc. A way, where lost ark is going to, with all “removing gold here and there”.
no rmters need to be perma banned… its against ToS … id even take what RU does u go in debt till u pay it off by either playin the game or buy legit buying gold ingame

I’ve spent on this game. I still think RMT is bad. People who spend through the shop SHOULD be more concerned about RMT since people are getting gold for 1/4 of the price legitimate buyers are. Why would AG want people buying gold from a 3rd party rather than from them?
This is honestly just conjecture, not sure where you draw a correlation between RMT and being “invested” in the game. In fact people who abuse RMT frequently accept that they might get banned and do it because it’s simply cheaper than the in-game shop.
Again really not sure what you are basing this assumption off of. How would they lose money from people who are not spending money on the store? They also don’t need to perma-ban but the current punishment is non-existant. Giving negative gold would be fine.
I know about 10 players who RMT personally to varying degrees from 1st time to weekly since launch. The ones who do it more are honestly less invested and do it because they don’t care. Also none of them have been even temp banned.
Agreed. And work with Steam to issue VAC-bans. This is a clear violation of TOS.

It’s publicly available to prove me wrong. No MMO in the history of MMOs has ever taken a hardline stance against their own players RMTing. Even Mark Jacobs (Mythic Entertainment - the guy behind DAoC and the failed Warhammer Online) when he was mouthing off about how he personally hated the RMT industry.

I think better option will be take gold off -same amounts , strip all characters to start of t1 post nickname and server + debuff for 1monthe u lose 90 % Inc gold secend rmt/hax = perma ip ban

In the end a light hand isn’t the way to go with this situation. So whatever they choose the penalty should exceed the potential gain not just equal it. ie. Just taking the gold away.
The concept of taking the gold away then putting a 2 week - month reduction on gold gain even through mail seems like a reasonable mid ground. I’m just more the ban and bye type.
I feel like this is the only game I’ve played where this wasn’t a black and white ban.
Both Path of Exile and Warframe will lifetime ban you for this kinda crap.
Every older MMO I played was the same. This is some recent nonsense.
Gosh people are well aware what they are doing so they should get t heir accounts reseted. Maybe they will play the next game with a different mindset
