I thought that demon shadowhunter used crit as its main stat. All my accessories had crit on them and I had 60% crit with demon engraving, I had lvl 3 of the 60% extra crit dmg engraving that I cant remember the name of. It was pretty fun until I inspected a shadowhunter running full specialization and I wondered if I had made a mistake. I have now switched and man the difference seems really big. I also transform wayy quicker. Does Shadowhunter stay full specialization all the way to endgame?
Yes, spec is most important stat of all. You can only afford to have a little bit of crit on that secondary necklace stat.
Specialization is not all tho, you must get all the good wealth runes, and add them to main skills that generate transformation. Right now I have about 1340 specialization but I still can’t transform with one rotation of purple skills, cause I am missing that legendary wealth rune for demon vision. Once you have enough spec and wealth runes, you will be entering demon form seconds after it ends.
Also, don’t worry about crit chance percentage. At 1370+ you get legendary gear that gives you 15% chance, I paired that with adrenaline lv3, demonic impulse lv3, necklace stat and lostwind cliff card set, and I am now sitting at 81% crit chance. At this point, you crit so much that Keen Blunt Weapon engraving (one you mentioned, that boosts your crit by 50%) is extremely efficient and is best DPS engraving you can possibly add, even better than Grudge.
Late game is when you truly get a feel of what shadowhunters are supposed to play like. You went from generating your demon form for 5 minutes to literally seconds, it only gets better now.

You want enough spec to transform in one skill rotation, it’s not until super late game where you can change one piece out for crit
Yeah to add on to Hiso, all you need is 2 blue wealth runes(which are equipped to Howl and Demon’s Grip) and a legendary rune(equipped to Demon Vision) and spec over 1200 will get you into demon form in a single use of each skill if you hit them, around 1350+ lets you miss one skill to enter demon form. I also recommend prior to entering demon form to use Howl just before to get 3-4s of extra damage. So Howl, transform, blood massacre, leaping blow and gore bleeding. I also run a bleed rune on gore bleeding bc you can always keep that up whilst transformed for free damage.

dam for real…ive boing doing the crit to it just felt natural. well, I guess ill give spec a try then.
