I just wish theyd actaully tell smilegate we need a one month drop of like 5 skins so we can get a little diversity in here. Or maybe just drop nerias dress room. I dont know whats happening here but Amazon is the one cutting the check so they need to tell smilegate players arent happy with the release rate of the skins and stop acting like they’re the smaller company in this partnership.

If you’re not with them in their eyes you’re against them. Its better to just not even respond to people that just wanna hate. They cant think clearly.

  • If AGS is releasing :poop: as soon as it is available and tests on the day they receive said package, then they’re serious concerns between the communication and workflow between AGS and Smilegate that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.

  • Again, if they’re communicating things as soon as they get the approval to do so, with their being potential issues between the workflow between Amazon and Smilegate, it further drives how the point that the two aren’t exactly in lockstep with one another, which is incredibly troubling.

  • They stated there was a problem, after they communicated it was tested and ready. Again, this is problematic.

  • Honestly, this kind of shows me that AGS has a sort of fear of the community. They realized a problem and rather than wait too long to announce a delay, they did so immediately before realizing that the ‘issue’ could be easily rectified. Again, it seems like they didn’t have all the information available to them and jumped the gun with their announcement only to turn right back around and say ‘No worries guys, we got it fixed!’

This whole fiasco highlights that there is a really large disconnect between Smilegate and AGS and NA/EU players are the ones caught in the crossfire of whatever backend disaster is happened between the two.

Here is a quick info dump about game publishing.

What does a games publisher do?

Games publishers give developers the money upfront to make a game. They strike up a deal with a studio (game development company) to make a game according to an agreed brief. The publisher then works closely with the game producer at the studio to make sure the game’s being made as agreed, to budget and on time.

Publishers help the studio with jobs to support the development of the game. They help with marketing and quality assurance (testing). They also cover product and brand management, which means deciding how to describe and communicate the game vision and strategy. And they deal with the complexities of selling games in other countries, such as translation and localisation.

I just got this randomly from google so you can search google if you have trouble understanding the responsibilities of a publisher. They can’t escape criticism by throwing the developer under the bus.

They should’ve talked with both players and developers more and inform both parties earlier at least a week ago with the content updates etc.

Damn they are now googling job responsibilities in fields they do not work in and using that to push the narrative that AGS should be crucified everytime they dont give us what we want. This is some next level shit. Enough internet for me today.

Publishers in most cases have a lot of control and if not heavy influance over what a developer does. The publisher is the one cutting the check. To say its not on amazon, amazon is just the publisher is like not blaming EA when mass effect fumbled.
Gamigo, EA and most publishers have more control than they admit to, and always use the “developer retains creative control” line as a get out of jail free card when something goes wrong.

I believe they don’t physically write code for the game but i don’t believe for a second they are held to ransom by smilegate. This is amazon after all, no way did they sign a contract that leaves them powerless and i wont believe that until i see said contract.

Lol, I did mention this could be an april fools joke a few times. But yeah this is the first time I’ve seen an announced delay before the release AND a cancellation of the delay at the same time.

  • It’s not the day they receive said package. it’s the day they’re done adapting the package and testing it. They’re releasing as soon as content is ready. I don’t see a problem with that. You can call it poop or whatever, but that’s just the game’s content.
  • well yeah. one is in america and the other in korea. But I don’t see how it follows that there’s problems. The first half of your mega-sentence doesn’t lead on to the second part of your mega-sentence.
  • why is that? They updated the community as soon as an update was available
  • again, why is that a problem? It shows that they gave the community what it wanted with more communication. If you wanted them to withhold available information maybe get the community to stop complaining about getting more communication?

Personally i want more communication between amazon and smilegate.

How have we not been given more than one skin. Either amazon havent told smilegate players want more skins or smilegate dont care. Either way amazon need to keep telling them until they listen. And the skin thing is probably amazons fault anyway as it directly ties to monetisation which is a publishers area of responsibility.

I dont care about the supply chain or the chain of custody, or the communication between parties. I’m the customer, i just want my end product served on time, every time. Everything in between is someone elses issue

except for the fact that this is not the first time a korean publisher has absolutely fucked US audiences as hard as possible. A pattern has consistently shown itself over 20+ years bro. I’ve literally talked to publishers in private messages who just stopped giving a fuck about the game they were working on because they were tired of working with their hands tied behind their backs. They straight up said the korean developers have no respect for US audiences and send them botched versions of the games on purpose. When they try to make edits to the code, the korean companies get pissed, threaten to end contracts, threaten to sue, etc. Smilegate is intentionally fucking us. They fucked us since launch by giving us their lowest selling skin as a “heres some scraps noone wants. be happy about it”, they fucked us by removing half the mat farming content in the game. The list goes on and on. This version wont survive to the ‘catch up’ date they supposedly have planned where we magically reach korea level of game. I dont even believe such a date exists. I think they will always keep us behind so they can feel superior

Very pessimistic take but honestly I’ve seen nothing in way of action that contridicts it. Amazon need to start acting like one of, if not thee biggest company in the world and grow some balls if thats true

I’ll give it till the may update, if we get 1 skin again im done. Its not me trying to act like my custom matters as an individual. I know i mean shit but im just tired of it now. Ive started to get a little bored now anyway. 3 characters in T3 and now its just repetative asf. Every day in game is the same and everone looks the same. The past 3 days have started to feel like an effort to sign in. Did argos p3 today, which was a little fun that lasted for 30 minutes or so but then i was back to running daily mind numbingly biring stuff just to push my main to 1415.
