Hi Everyone!
In Guardian Raids, more specifically, when you used MatchMaking and everyone is random, is it bad etiquette to go back to base to replenish supplies (except in the case where you need all 4 players for a mechanic to avoid a wipe)? I like to go back to base to replenish my grenades, potions, and anything else I might need, because:
-
If the grenade is of the element that the guardian is weak to, it does a really good amount of damage, especially from the back.
-
I prefer doing this over dying, especially when I’m running low on potions, so I can best help conserve our limited number of revives.
-
I might discover that a certain battle item isn’t working as well as I thought it would, and I want to quickly switch a different, way more effective, one.
I’ve never gotten any crap for it, but I can’t help but wonder if I’m accidentally doing something considered rude to those who do a lot more guardian raids than me (usually those with way more alts to do dailies for). Should I stop? Should I announce it to the party so they know what I’m doing? Thanks so much for the feedback in advance, guys!

No. It’s comepletely fine to return to the workshop to replenish supplies. Good on you for even using battle items. If anything, those who don’t should be admonished.

Nope. I always tell my party if i need to refill pots. Some of them also did that or even forgot to check untill i said that.
As far as I can tell, a living dps, or support, is better than a dead one
Hell some people even forgot to swap to raid build mid raid. So no worry. Humans aint perfect creatures

It is a game. There are no other official rules outside of what AMZ and SMG specify. All other rules are made up by players and as such either play with the group or find another group. There is no preferred way of play. All styles of plays are legitimate, and is allowed by EULA. You do not owe your pug group anything, but they also do not owe you anything.

Using grenades that do damage in the element that the guardian is weak in, especially if you can manage it with weak spot, does soooo much damage, that I wish more people bothered to try it! However, you don’t get very many, so once you’re out, going back to replenish is really worth it, at least for me.
Not using potions of any kind… I’m not quite I understand why people do that, especially with the limited number of revives your whole team collectively has. This is also why going back to replenish potions or protection potions, or taking a step back from the action to heal, once you are low on health is important to me, or just kinda “common sense” for these kinds of things. Then again, they might have their own reasons or strat for why they’re not doing this, lol. I will sometimes make a small note in the party chat to say, "Don’t forget you can replenish your battle items and potions at base at any point!
", but ultimately, I’m honestly most concerned about my own performance and doing the best I can. Your comment is very reassuring, bro.
I will 100% sacrifice 30s to go refill pots over dying and let my teammate trying to solo the boss for 8 minutes (not guarantee successful raid) when the whole alive party can end under 4 minutes.

Thank you for the kind and reassuring words, that makes me feel better (and yes, I am very much DPS- how could you tell?
). I think I am going to make more of an effort to remember to let the group know I’m going to go replenish just because I don’t see it hurting and also to remind the other players they can also do this.
One of the most common sense replies I have seen in such a long time.
While I do appreciate that some people want to be considerate of others.
Still.
It’s refreshing to know that there are still some people who actually understand this basic premise. Like it or not lol

You’re absolutely right!
However, in-game or not, it’s my own personal thing to not upset people when I don’t have to and to always try to better myself or do my best. I misunderstood something else in this game until recently and it appeared I was upsetting people on purpose, so when I started having doubts about this, I knew the forums would be brutally honest with me, lol.
Other people, as far as I’m concerned, can just keep on doing whatever they want, as long as they aren’t hurting themselves or anything/anyone around them.

What etiquette?? Almost all of the Kungelanium I matchmade, everyone hoards battle items. No flares, no phero.
Multiple times I’ve flared first and then after the turtle runs away, they just stand there expect the turtle to come back up as though someone phero-ed. When they realized the turtle isn’t back, only do they go search for it. Bloody hoarder players. They probably think they can phero Brelshaza or something.

Ah, thank you for your honest thoughts regarding this and I’m sorry to hear you’re having a sorry time of this. Thankfully, I haven’t had this experience so far, at least, not yet (although I probably just wrote it into existence). I used to be the weakest link when it comes to these things (not something I’m proud of), so I just want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to be a good team mate
Can’t tell you i don’t use pots in guardian raids.
I know right XD? Usually if someone flares, i will most definitely phero first or second and i callout too. If no one use battle items, i wouldnt use any because these hoarders doesnt deserve my battle items

Not usually on lower-level raids. Usually on tier 3, and that’s because I use the “super-effective” grenades a lot, stimulants, and I don’t take chances on not using potions if I can help it
