I don’t get it either.
I guess back in the early days when there wasn’t really raid content it didn’t seem like a big deal (since end game was guardians).

I have a 1400 swiftness bard with correct combat stats, 3x3 engravings (DS, Awakening, and HA) and level 5 gems and I still can’t get accepted into parties. What support privilege are we speaking of here?
What server do you play on? Are you doing Akkan?
I’m not gonna lie.
I can clear valtan and vykas on that pally easily, with those exact engravings and rainbow stats.
It’s not even a problem.
this guy malding because supports always ingna sorc > surge DB on their buff rotation
hes just malding over MVP

Congrats, you’re an experienced player?
Good job for proving my entire point wrong with one singular experience.
I bow to your existence.
I’ve never once complained about support shortage buddy. I play two supports and am a DPS main. I didn’t join the lobby the Paladin was in because I’d rather run with a DPS in that slot than a useless support that can’t provide buffs or shields at proper intervals to smooth out the run.
Then whats the purpose of this post? As if this guys will just stand there and do nothing, or die right away without even trying to do his role…
Imagine this kind of “alt support” is hated and gatekept, what do you think will be the impact to those who dont main support?
Or maybe you are the one who wanted to get carried by a gigachad support?
My point is that people are abusing the support shortage by making these poorly built supports that offer no real benefit in raids and people feel like they NEED support when really it’s not that hard to just go in with a party full of DPS. I have no problem running a raid full DPS. I am a DPS main that also plays a Paladin and a Bard that are both built to offer enough buff uptime and healing/shields to support the party properly. I spent my resources to do it because of the support shortage and wound up enjoying the classes. I don’t understand what’s so hard about anyone else doing the same. It’s not an expensive class to gear at all.
Get off your high horse with this “get carried by a gigachad” bs insult. I run most of my raids in statics or with guildies. It’s not too much to ask that the few I do pug are not wasting my time since I do my best not to waste theirs.
Dude, all these post are starting to become annoying.
It’s a shame that they can just don’t invest in their characters and still make it work, but if you want to change that PLAY A SUPPORT.
You dont even know if this character is his alt or if the guy is willing to swipe just to gear up his character. He might be one of the F2P andies. You posting this just to get an attention “hey, im a gigachad with full of this and that”.
You start from being like this character and crawl your way up and nobody POSTED anything like what you did.
You’ve been carried once and stop this BS gatekeeping.
Then why post this? You can just simply ignore this and go on your pug and get carried.
I guess no heals, but if they can alternate attack buffs, shield well, and do mechs, it’s a gain lol xD
that guys is clearly a new player, probably hear about the supp shortage and wanted an “easy life”
be thankfull that ppl actually take their time to join the game quite late
vykas succubus isnt new player. If it’s new player I don’t really care
support has a high ceiling & low floor, and that so many people are saying it doesn’t have a high ceiling is all-telling about why there are so few good supports
even a simple fight like kung, most bards:
don’t hold guardian tune for the ice projectile
don’t build meter optimally
Most other encounters have far more encounter-specific and comp-specific ability usage than a simple fight like kung, yet most bards still can’t do two simple, obvious things.
This is when you need to point out their mistakes because it matters.
As a paladin in Kunge: I often kite the orbs and grab aggro. I know it is impossible sometimes, especially with a taunt class like Gunlancer and Destroyer. But it helps. I also try to position myself every time slightly 45 degrees cone of the boss’s face for the counter.
This Paladin is 1430 doing Normal Valtan and Vykas. As a support learn him evolve and figure out what he is doing wrong… but looking at the title I’m sure he is somewhat confident with skill rotations and building meter for Blessed Aura.
Advanced gameplay is something you and I learn throughout raiding adventures in Lost Ark. This is what I learned when I’m an endurance build 1370 bard struggling in P3 Argos all the way to Vykas HM getting lucky until I’m full swiftness. Now Brel ready with my 4/3 ![]()
my point is that IT DOES NOT MATTER support gear as long as the support knows what is he doing… supports are VERY efficient classes AND IT NEEDS TO BE THAT WAY, only 10% of the population is willing to play the role of SUPPORTING YOU so be grateful there is someone in the mood to HEAL YOUR AZZ, be content with it and S.T.F.U
I wan too see all this losers doing all pure dps brel/brel hard, akkan etc… LOL
It’s sad but true as a core part of the support classes in Lost Ark. With only 3x3(class exp, awk) and some swift/spec any support who plays decently is more than enough to clear any content in the game and whether they have more or less(ilvl/engravs) has almost no impact on the content.
If you have an issue with supports “getting away” with minimum reqs for content, then don’t accept them to your groups and just wat 30m+ for another one.
I have no problemms and i dont take Sup with 3x3 and Rainbow Stats.
It is only partially true. On engravings Drops of ether = more dmg for the whole grp, Explosive Expert = more Dmg for the whole grp. There are a lot of other niche engravings that could just resolve in more bubble generation or dmg for the grp.
more swiftness = more uptime on buffs and more bubble generation, what leads to more dmg or better timings for your big buffs. So I don’t think that support gear does not matter at all.
And you could say that about every class.
But I agree, if you think someone is not geared well enough for your party then don’t accept him
