I put about 2200 hours into the game before Kuku came out. I quit before it released, didn’t think I would come back, sold everything that I could and gave the gold to a buddy who said they would keep playing. And sure, they still play to this day! I came back this week because I heard some big honing buffs were coming, theres lots of new stuff to do now, and theres gunna be some kid with a paintbrush. Just running my normal weekly stuff (1505 sorc, 1445 GL and Pally, 1415 scrapper arty and DB) and selling the mats, was able to get enough for a brel bus and a kuku bus. Got all level 5 gems on main too. Got crazy lucky with a 7/7 rock on the sorc too, but could only afford a budget build (Igniter, cursed doll, hit master, all out attack level 3, precise dagger level 2, spec/swift).
With the gold nerfs coming now and the insane gatekeeping (I can barely get into Caliligos raids) what tips would you guys have to get back on my feet, other than obviously swiping? Cuz even selling all my mats, after I buy all the busses im pretty broke still, and those igniter/grudge accessories are EXPEEEEENSIVE! Any secret sauce someone has that I could utilize? Or just kinda go on autopilot for a month or two?

Jokes aside. If you don’t swipe don’t come back. The thing is buffs to hone are good but until 1445 where you don’t generate gold anymore. For dps alts to generate gold and not be gatekept you need to be 1500 on them with 5*3 from 1445. So if you have gold to invest like 200k per alt without swiping you can come back and try else you need to swipe.

Make use of the progression events coming out today (battle pass , hyper express) you can also make a brand new character and do the story express which will also give nice rewards.
Try to get into some Learning clown parties, and brel gates 1-4 to start building your new gear on your main.
After youre done with your main try to lvl up your alts for free up to 1445 (or use the hyper express). To get some extra gold from Vykas HM as well.

thankfully my pally and arty have 5x3! thats a start!
You can set up your engravings with 2 leg books and a 7/7 so that you only need a class 3 / bis 3 accessory and a 4/3 necklace. That way it’s not that expensive. Get the free engraving pouches from the raid vendors, anguished island, the bridge, rowen and there may be some coming with the new express. Then I’d just buy igniter books while the frog is around and finish your 5x3 by either doing the above or saving up for a 5/3 class acc and getting a bis 5 / random 3 necklace.

Yeah the only reason i bought the bus for them was because I was even getting declined for learning parties which kinda sucked.
I do have the anguished and bridge ones! I didn’t know rowen had one as well! Is that through the faction rep thing?

think of it like this you had a ferrari
you got sick of the ferrari and you sold the engine
few months after you decided you wanted to drive it again but now you can’t afford the ferrari engine
so instead you bought a Pegeot 206 engine to replace it
and the requirement for the raids you want to play is a minimum a BMW where people inspect your car before they take you
there are no real tips anyone can give you
you just have to reacquire your gems
maybe ask your buddy to assist you back to the game
just like you spent your 2000 hours i think you should reaquire the mindset that it will take you time to recover from your charity
the other more reasonable tip is to main swap to your support and make an artist today
you will have an infinite amount easier time playing the game while you build back up your old main

There’s other games about to come out soon. Don’t waste your time on this game unless you really want to.
The gold nerf seriously hurt if you’re funneling to your main, or if you plan to push your alts.
Did they reduce the cost for honing past 1445? Nope.
Did they reduce the cost of quality upgrades? Nope.
You’ll have to work your way up and do clown and brel if you want gold. But now you have way less gold to push. However, if you plan to swipe, then the game should be enjoyable. But your time is better spent else where, there’s other games, and ones coming out soon as well.

Yeah i think mainly the reason is your gems, people accept at lesat lvl 7 gems for Brel raids.
But it’s fine, take your time, if your friends are still playing try to do some clowns with them, will totally help.
It’s called Twinkle twinkle vendor, they sell random legendary engravings and materials , and it helps a lot. (if you are in Nia Village check the pink NPC next to the honing npc)

Push them first to 1460 and try getting parties for vykas HM you’ll face gatekeeping though but it’s an important income of gold 4.5k per alt. Priority for your supports
… That was such a good analogy… That actually makes a ton of sense, thank you lmao. So basically just get to farming and be patient! Gunna try and utilize guild shop too to get bosh rush tickets hopefully, get those gems back up.

Just come back, run clown, hone and go from there. I’d try and find a Discord/Guild/Group of Friends over staying at the mercy of Party Finder however. You will have a better time not pugging everything.
If you find it’s something you are getting into again, stick with it. If you find the same reasons you quit before are pain points still today, move on to another game.

and please, while yes you can swipe, this is all b.s.
if you enjoy the game, and you put some time into it, you will get there.
my biggest advice to you is to find a group of friends to do raids with or a static. It will do wonders. trust me
