Anyone else thinks that the classes who weren't on launch were targeted for a certain audience of players?

Thats also a factor but it cant just be a coincidence how i really was interested in these classes. I always look for the hard, complex, unique classes in every type of game that has a variety of chars/classes to choose from.

Example i can give in dota if you played that game…earth spirit my most played alongside invoker, lone druid, naga siren, meepo and so on.

Sad thing is I think this was a decent possibility before they changed class releases to every 2 months.

Destroyer? Well obviously they couldn’t release the game with just one support, because Paladin wasn’t a release class in KR. So Destroyer had to go.

Berserker is obviously the most popular class, Gunlancer is a must because of his uniqueness and the tank playstyle and Paladin was also a must.

Reaper? Yeah, I agree, she should’ve been out as the traditional assassin class. Shadowhunter had to be in there as transformation class, I’d personally have Reaper instead of DB. But then again, DB is massively popular so it couldn’t happen.

Arcana? Would’ve been too much early on and Sorc was one of the newer and most popular classes.

Lancemaster? Agreed, she should’ve been in right away. Scrapper and Striker are pretty much the same thing, one should’ve been scrapped (no pun intended) from the release.

Scouter? I was also waiting for it, but then they said one class per two months and I just made a Shadowhunter which is pretty much the same thing even though they have completely different visual identity. One skill rotation into transformation, then spam those skills, repeat. Tripods, gems except for two, skill points and directional attacks don’t matter. Same thing. And they have to milk something.

Artist and Summoner aren’t even worth mentioning, was never going to happen.

“Anyone else thinks that the classes who weren’t on launch were targeted for a certain audience of players?”

Yeah, the ones with money to spend. They need cows to milk since this game will not last that much.

Will there be disadvantages if they release all classes now ? No.
Advantages ? Maybe more players.

It`s all about the money.

I suppose that they picked the most popular classes to launch on Global version, that’s why Sorceress was released instead Arcana for example.

you mean summoner?

I wouldn’t classify anything in Lost Ark has hard to master, personally. Combat is engaging and fun, and that’s really the extent of it.

You can’t master RNG, and that is mostly what Arcanist is. It’s just difficult for the sake of being difficult.

Unique is subjective. Each person identifies what is unique to them in different ways. For me, Arcanist is just Gambit from X-Men. Cool, sure. I wouldn’t think unique though. Scouter is just Iron Man. Again, it’s cool. Lots of classes are.

I think the unique thing is Lost Ark are the systems tied to player power. Tripods, quality, card set bonuses, etc.

But someone will have experienced something similar in another game and not find them unique at all. It is what it is.

The west actually likes two things: hard classes, and pvp. This is not a fact in other regions! The most “famous” classes in other regions are mostly easy and strong classes like the Sorcerer. I don’t think the release of the classes was so meticulous as to think about difficulty versus what the west likes. But it is indisputable that destroyer, arcana reaper and scouter are going to be ABSURDLY more popular here than in all other regions. It’s almost like an experiment to understand the tastes of the region, and it’s working.

Yea i get what you mean…thats why i kinda felt also targeted. I really despise the Warrior archetype in any games but Destroyer was different it was not the typical “flame” skills that you always see in the warrior classes that i hate thats why i play destroyer.

Reaper was the most baffling for me, as an assassin player in every mmo she should of been on launch because its the traditional assassin gameplay like how berserker, sorc, hawkeye is always in a mmo launch.
My first really mmo experience was being a mage that i then slowly became a assassin player but arcana stood up for me being different like a assassin mage so i got interested to have in my roster and liked it.

Its like how some ppl despise a certain archetype of a class but one stoods out to you. You dont like the typical warrior class ? Here have a destroyer. Dont like the traditional fire, ice, lighting mage ? We got a arcana for you. Didnt like classes with rifles ? Here have a laser shooting class and so on and im in this picture kinda lol.

Yeah, this game has a lot of classes that stray from traditional designs.

I personally love all kind of Warrior classes and other than MMO, I’m a FPS game player, so I have a Gunslinger. But I always hated mages and never played them in any game.

My roster right now is Paladin, Gunslinger, Berserker, Gunlancer and Shadowhunter. I don’t have the time or motivation to buy additional slots, so I’m waiting for Punika pass to get a Destroyer and that would be it from me.

If I could replace one character, I’d definitely change my Berseker to a Striker.

Yea everyone has a different opinion what is unique. But in a mmo i never saw a iron man class, a class involved heavily in rng with her throwing cards, a stance switcher but i saw a big sword guy called berserker, the punching/kicking classes, the class with a bow, fire/ice/lighting mage. Thats why they are unique in my opinion.

I agree with you on one thing for sure, it feels awful waiting for your main. I main Destroyer and sitting at P3 argos 8 to 10 weeks not honing past 1400 because you didnt want to waste mats or gold, dont want to upgrade gems past 5/6, dont want to invest in legendary engravings (unless they are similar to your mains - mine wasnt). It did feel good once destroyer released and I was prepared though, I couldnt imagine doing this into Vykas and further beyond though - having to invest into a character since your main still isnt out! Awful.

i like mages, but don’t sorcerer. I already like different magic classes, and I’m going to be main Arcana for exactly that. A magic class that completely deviates from the standard of mages. It’s sad that it took so long to arrive, my sharpshooter is already at 1460, and it will be a long process to switch from main, but it will be worth it. If I had a druid here, I would certainly be a druid.

Since you said you play dota, once upon a time (a really damn long time ago) there was Gambler. Hero that dealt damage with gold. You used gold to cast skills and then it rolled the damage. That would be fun with RMTers in this game. :joy:

Yeah, I watched some gameplay, seems way more fun than Sorc. But one of those classes that looks like it’s a lot of investment. You don’t even have to fully switch mains, even if you just use bound stuff your SS should be 1475 come clown and then you’ll pretty much have two mains.

Arcana is very cheap, but, yes, In the end I will have 2 late game characters.

god i hope they’ll make a male whip class in the future.

can’t wait to make a belmont

Two more days and im off back to RU
Can’t bother waiting for Amazon to get their shit together

Yea thats what i mean with my post…i never liked the warrior classes with their big swords but a big hammer boy ? Count me in. I faded away from mages because it got boring with the same fire, lighting, ice but arcana ? No involvment of ice, fire, lighting and not so much of a “caster” type of mage ? Count me in.

Thats why i feel like they left out the “bad/good apples” from the launch that will soak in the guys that are not interested in a certain archetype of Warrior/Mage/Gunner/Assassin/Martial artist but a one class that feels different from the traditional gameplay to make you create that char and invest.

Currently I have 8 characters. 7 Tier 3, 1 character will be Arcana (my main). 1 of each class, i have 1 paladin, 1 shadow hunter, 1 sorcerer, 1 sharpshooter (1460), 1 lancemaster, 1 gunslinger and 1 wardancer. Sorcerer are my UNIQUE boring class. Its gameplay is extremely BORING, whether reflux or igniter, it’s more of the same, the same as all traditional mmorpgs: a mage who is casting skills or “stop” spamming skills. I think it’s rough. But it is undeniable that its ease x strength is a great attraction for beginners.

yeah i know, kinda sad, but it is what it is , i probably not gonna be playing the game even by then anyway tbh
