every publisher hands out a few days of premium, along with plenty of other items. So it’s not really much a special compensation or anything.

And to us, people who pay money for their amazon subscription they also give $1.5 worth of aura. While games like league of legends get over $40 worth of goodies every month.
I know you’re being facetious, but I’ll bite anyway. The whole point of these is to get you in the door, much like the daily login bonuses. It’s not out of good will, it’s to keep you on the hamster wheel.
So when a big companie gives out free samples especially when it is to calm the waves, plus here it is even only something digital no “real” worth behind it, you think they are caring about the user?!
