Arcane is not the same as Arcana.
Dictionary Arcanist knows secret magic knowledge. From culture you would say knows arcane arts/knowledge maybe.
I think a lot of us liking the Arcana class name are fans of the Persona series that went into magic of Tarot cards and called the concept Arcana.
I feel at this point, they have a position dedicated to renaming shit, and so they have to justify that position existing.
I’m aware of the Tarot card variation of the term but it doesn’t mean you can be an “Arcana”. Arcana means withheld secrets. It can technically apply to Arcane as well though that’s more seen as a different concept. You still can’t be an “Arcane” either technically.
For instance when you have an Arcanum. This could apply to either word.
It’s simply books or objects holding secrets.
I honestly don’t care much either way. Long as they don’t make up fictional words.
I like to be quite objective but one thing i couldnt wrap my head around was Ags fooling around with names. They keep changing what doesnt need to be changed. I argued heaps with ppl said that glaivier ‘rolls of the tongue’ or ’ she wields glaive’ (news flash she just doesnt wield ‘glaive’) and i think its just disgusting.

There is just no thought logic to this at all.
This is I think the most weird change because of her theme. This might be another case of AGS not doing their homework and actually doing research first before doing these changes.
They might redo her theme, but it defeats the purpose of adding more to the character when the original theme is already iconic and so well known.
