How far is the damage difference between Crit spec vs Crit swift?
Both builds are good and honestly feel like they are closer than most other classes where the spec totally out performs the other.
it really depends on the content. Empress (spec) I’d say is stronger on average because it’s very adaptable and good at dealing its dmg in any scenario that other classes might find difficult like bosses jumping around the map or spinning around constantly. On the other hand emperor (swift) has a theoretically higher ceiling but is far less practical in a lot of content because it is dependent on regularly landing skills that require a boss to stand still. That said, Emperor has significantly higher parse dmg than empress, but is much less practical when it comes to dealing that parse to a boss. As such I feel that in most content empress usually outperforms emperor but there are scenarios where emperor has the ability to outperform empress. that said, in the right hands, I’d say that both of these playstyles are top tier dmg dealers. They just look underwhelming in the wrong hands.

Did some tests in trixion a couple of days ago as an igniter sorc. Standard build, full spec + crit, dps was around 5.3. Full swift + crit or spec (igniter as well - I know it makes no sense but I was curios and tried it out) dps was 4.8 4.9. I think any build you go will not perform too far apart from another regardless of class and stats distribution if it has the right engravings, gems, rotations, etc.
On the field however the situation is different. It’s better to go with the one that best suits your gameplay. Personally, I like bigger numbers more than piano style.
