You don’t even need to read the patch notes. It says it when you open the event window for what kind of character it is.
People are just so much in a hurry they don’t even read the information before clicking anything.
Remember the daily guardian event? People came to the forum instantly to complain it was taking too long instead of taking 5 minutes to figure out they needed to kill/break the invader first.
They can’t read, they can’t think. Some would probably even want honing materials while offline so they don’t have to play.
Imagine you make the “<” key delete your character any time you press it in any moment of the game and you just write a patch note that explain that. Do you think it is a good idea to let the software delete characters inintencionally and by pressing the “<” key and even worse, without any ingame confirmation or explanation? Actually that’s the same as the express pass event popup on a T3 character
The question is why you can not accept the express pass with a level 1 character but you can accept it with a iLvl 1400 characters? obviusly it is an aceptance criteria bug.
It is so natural to accept a long term event with lots of rewards based on daily actions with the character you play the most, your main. Even before you figure out what kind of reward you can obtain, if that reward is bound to roster or pj or tradeable, etc etc, it is Amazon jobs to make the event only available and acceptable for the right characters
I failed on the same way. that was exactly my thought process when i started the game and I even read the patch notes before and in between like you. I thougt when i can select my T3 main it cant be the event for 302-1000 iLvL.
Honestly I was going through the same confusion and at your step 7 when I saw it was a chest After you complete the event missions, and with the small amount of rewards (example: 50 greater leap stones) I kinda figured it was for a completely new alt but me being cautious about using passes after I used my Vern pass not realizing it completed all the side quest which I still wanted I learned this lesson at the start of this game, but it applies to all MMOs really, don’t use something if you do not know exactly what it does, MMOs, Korean MMOs will punish you for playing dangerously like this.
Even tho I didn’t do this myself, I’m all in to shut this game down and do a hot fix befor the weekend to get a redo or reimbursement of mats of some sort, so it does not completely ruin thousands of peoples plans for the next 3 days.
If this was the case we would not be hearing from them because they would not be on the forums complaining about it. These are people that are in just to big of a hurry to take a second and read.
you know while i do feel sorry for people who click ont he wrong character. the patch notes were posted here (the forums) the website main page, on steam (where you have to download the update from). do they put the patch in game no as people won’t read it if its there either. for those who did click because of the chest well it does state in the UI you get that chest after completing the missions, if you don’t know what missions its referring to then don’t click anything and go look it up. as far as AGS they can’t do anything they are litterly sending this feedback to Smilegate, who if you go off how they treated the powerpass issue won’t do anything.
I’ve known many players over the years who refuse to have anything to do with forums because of the toxicity but they’d still generally read the patch notes.
Now most guild Discords post the patch notes so there is even less reason for the average player to come here unless something goes completely sideways for them.
It’s also why you should regard the overall attitudes of the kinds of players on forums as more of a special interest group rather than a snapshot of the broader community. People who are highly active here, would likely be so on the forums of whatever game or interest they are involved in because of who they are as a person, not because of any inherent qualities the game itself
I opened on my main because i have 6 t3 alts… i dont have toons under 1000 to use it on, i could have used it on my new glaivier but i had enough mats to push it to 1340 instantly and felt that was a waste since i could clear it faster on my main, no regrets either. not my fault ppl can’t hit 1000 ilvl on their alts after this much time and all these events… plus easier it is to do them, faster u get the t3 box at the end, so unless u are in dire need of t1 or t2 mats (which should be impossible) i see nothing wrong with using this on ur main.
yup. majority of people just dl video games and play. they dont actively make any extra effort to immerse into the game world at all. And thats totally fine. Message boards are also an outdated concept for the new generation unless you count Reddit(but even that is more of a millennial thing than zoomer/alpha gen). They all grew up on facebook(which is considered DEAD to anyone under 30) and now tiktok and snapchat where there is literally 0 information on the games they play. They never experienced message boards the way us 90s and early 2000 kids did. Twitter is pretty much only used by boomers at this point + celebs/companies trying to advertise. The media hypes twitter up as the #1 most used thing, but the actual user numbers are super low compared to other apps.
Lost ark needs to just have the patch notes popup when you try to login like most games do, and force you to at least scroll through to log in. This would help alot
The reality is that not everyone cares enough to read every patch notes and official twitter page of the game. I’d say there are way more players who don’t read patch notes compared to those who do. I mean we’re playing a game here, not taking a university course. Events like this should be either easy to understand without having to read a wall of text on a webpage, or should be explained carefully in-game so people understand clearly.
I’m usually careful, since I’ve started playing this is the first thing I’ve done wrong, accept the event with my +1300 character. I thought it could be claimed with anyone or that they would give you materials to level up t3 as well, but no. It was a mistake, I accept it and I don’t expect anything to be returned to me.
Now, having said this, I want to clarify that they have done very badly. That it can be claimed with a character of +1300 without being warned when you click, that it cannot be canceled, that the rewards cannot be exchanged between your characters, that they cannot be claimed with other characters… all wrong

Sorry i check it no is not showing t3 mats some one post from oder region and now all pretend it did cant read don’t bothered to check what u click to bad your lost + now after all of u note bad decision ,now u know where is the forum but i agreed it was ags and sg deal to look ilvl to start the event like it was in patch note 1000 or under so for that ppl didn’t rake eny rewards they need chance to select different char,but it to much worry to do it
and now we also have a cyclical notification that warns us over and over again that we have done it wrong and we cannot hide it (and that it doesn’t help us either because we can no longer fix it)
