Are we victorious?

with you on that one, literally was my main in RU and back then when me and my bro played I was like “well I am maining scouter in our release” none of my favourite classes are released, if it wasn’t for scrapper would of left already.

To be fair, i wasn’t even in the forums for those threads about the guardians, but didn’t the west get a release buff on them and those nerfs were actually to normalize everything ? it didn’t really affect me in any way so i don’t think i can say much about it. but you are absolutely right on that. player count will still be untouched for that and will probably be the same for this class thread too.
Even if it hurst me to say that, people who will quit and wait for their classes are a vast minority in the community, and if they quit it wont do much, but their expecience will still be damaged.
“if they quit they werent invested that much” i think it might be the opposite, i mean, we know how hard it is go reroll later on, thus people that are invested in the game but doesn’t have their preffered class don’t want to waste their things on a class that they will drop later on.
About making a poll, i find it a wonderfull idea. as i agreed with you, 2 classes per month is a realistic compromise i would gladly take over 1 in 2-3. And if we have a community poll, even if we chose a warrior and a gunslinger i woulnd’t be mad because we the players had the choice.

Edit:Warrior and a gunner* mb

A real shame, guess I have to put the game down if the expected wait for Lance Master is several months. Why would you stagger class releases while also releasing new raids?

It all just leaves a bad taste in my mouth seeing friends and guildies progress into T3 with new raids on the horizon while my desired class could be a year away from releasing.
Yeah sure, you can always play some other class while you wait. But at that point you are not really enjoying the game, just going through the motions with no real attachment to your current character.

I think either way the will be fights and arguments. having a poll will atleast give the community the voice and the power to choose, instead of blindly receiving classes that already exist.

And yeah, the artist will probably be the last one ~Cries in paintbrush~.

no we didn’t, reason it seems harder is RU/KR had the mokoko buff which gave you 30% damage boost, take 40% less damage which NA/EU did not get, funny many people forget to mention that.

as for artist yes! she is looking so awesome but tbh I don’t expect her until next year so i am cool with that, just want scouter/summoner.

Even if it’s last, as long as it’s not super far down the road I’ll be okay. I want her so bad though ;w;

I just want to point out that in Korea they had months in between class releases.

Do I think releasing 1 class a month is the best way to handle it? No. Is it better than 2-3 months inbetween. Yes.

Do I think releasing all classes at once makes the most sense? No. Should all classes be released (expect artist) within a short period? Yes.

The West is missing so much content, not just raids. I think we all need to take a step back and breathe.

To me i just think of this as a brand new game just came out that didnt exist before in any region so i don’t get disappointed by missing contents / units :stuck_out_tongue: (also helps since i never watch any vids about the game from KR EU, only discovered the game at Nov 2021 from a friend) so I basicly don’t feel anything like the people who had watched / played / anticipated many things about this game

We already discussed those points up on the thread. it all boils down to: Of course Korea had to wait as they were NEW classes and with that comes all the work of MAKING such classes. for RU and for us they already exist, thus doesn’t make sense to treat them like NEW classes or NEW content. The keyword here is NEW. we don’t want NEw classes, we want what already exists and what RU got on release.

yeah we are missing a bunch of shit, just like we already have a bunch of shit, but classes are not content. classe releases are not what will drive people in endgame content or long term playing. classes are the medium to how they play the content.
And in the end it comes back to the argument: If they release t3 on launch, Argos is coming this month, and they are planning in catching up the endgame with the other regions, why gatekeep classes -the minor, but most important, part of the whole deal- ?

We didn’t ? Well, i know nothing about the whole buff/nerf thing so i won’t even say anything stupid.

Don’t say that, man. let me live in my copium world where i’m playing with my artist having the time of my life T-T

But yeah, i much preffer the other classes to be release asap than the artist, as she is the only “new” one

I get that it feels bad not having the class you want to play at launch, but there are two things you need to realize:

  1. There is a LOT of work to be done in localizing a class, and as we’ve seen from the translation errors and often laughably incorrect voice lines this was rushed in order to avoid further delays. Why do you think they cut the class specific prologues? It was going to push launch at least another 6 months, and if they had waited until all the classes were ready it would have been another 6 months easily. Would you rather have the game to play or be waiting another 6-12 months for it? Personally, I’d MUCH rather be playing the game than waiting.

  2. Alts are basically required if you want to do high end content. You don’t need to go super sweaty with them, even just doing chaos dungeons daily and sending out stronghold missions for guardian raids helps tremendously. So the time you’re investing now is not wasted, you can be banking mats for your future main and making gold/crystals to accelerate yourself further when the class you’re looking forward to finally launches. Not to mention you have plenty of time to get the horizontal content completed like gathering your skill points and doing the collectible and adventure guide stuff.

Would I love if Lance Master, Reaper and Artist were available? Yeah, absolutely. Other than Deathblade those were the three classes I was most interested in playing and it feels pretty bad that none of them are in the game. However, I’m loving the game so far and I’ve put a TON of time in since launch, so I feel like we have to look on the positive side and at least be thankful we have the game to play and that they have been responsive in dealing with the queues and bots.

No game launch will ever be perfect, and if you’ve seen ANY other big modern MMO release in recent years you’d know this was one of the smoothest we’ve seen despite the issues with EU queues.

@Valkirth actually we did lmao. A bunch of players complained that the guardians were too easy in the beta so they were buffed. Just go check old Lost Ark news posts

Adding my voice to this:

I get the appeal of spreading out the release of new classes, and if these were all new classes that were being designed and built it would totally make sense. Doing it with classes that already exist (and have been around for a while) on other regions feels really bad.

If some classes are being reworked or are delayed for some other reason, that’s fine, but releasing existing content every two months doesn’t feel “exciting” or keep things fresh.

You do realize we literally have the 2nd newest class in the game on NA/EU right now? Sorc came out in 2021

I have no issue throwing a decent chunk of money towards skins, mounts, etc. every month, but this ONLY happens if I’m very invested in the game. And guess what, without my main being in the game, I’m simply not interested to that degree. My interest is honestly waning every day that goes by.

Yeah, you’ll get whales spending money each time you slowly drip-feed them a class, but keep in mind there are people who’ll either quit the game, or simply refrain from spending any money on the game for upwards of a year because they can’t buy and use the skins, etc. on their preferred main. I hope you can imagine how awful it feels to finally have your favourite game released after years of waiting, and then for nothing other than potential profits, your main is withheld from you.

Just thought you should keep this in mind. That being said, profits should NEVER take precedent over something as vital to the enjoyment of the game as classes. Heck, one of the main praises towards Lost Ark that people bring up is the classes being fun, and you’re depriving people of their preferred way of enjoying your game for upwards of a YEAR with this release cadence. Simply a gigantic mistake, but I guess SmileGate/Amazon have already chosen where their preferences lie.

I totally agree, im waiting for lancmaster and

Can we agree classes aren’t content, but what we do content with?

Definitely agree. Trickling the classes in over a year’s time or even more might be the worst decision they could make. Hopefully Roxx can manage to sway some opinions of whoever made this decision…

I’m fine with Sorc myself. It is the class I wanted to main. But I totally agree it would be really draining to be stuck investing all your time and resources into class you don’t enjoy as a placeholder for many months just to experience game content until the class you actually want to play comes out, just to start over on them, having to either save up unbound resources for them or farm new ones.

I do want to try Reaper and LM though.
