nerf is one thing, but this a rework, a completely different monster.
It’s important to note that from a design perspective artillerist is failing. The goal for a class in lost ark is two builds differentiated by class engraving that, ideally, aren’t too far apart in damage. Artillerist only has one build at endgame with double class engraving. It makes sense it would be receiving an overhaul to seperate both class engravings into two different playstyles. I’m sorry that means it’ll cost you a large sum of gold to respec your character, but this is better in the long term for the overall health of the class and increases it’s accessibility for people who are new to it.

The thing is currently both “new” builds emerging from the change lose a chunk of damage in real raid situations compared to the old clunky build. Thats not an improvement.
The playstyle may feel better but it’s just plain worse if they don’t make adjustements.
If it’s implemented as is, artillerist will be dead in our region. Completely useless to regear it when you can get a toon with more damage for cheaper.
Maybe it’s because I main sharpshooter but playstyle matters more than damage to me, since things will always be buffed/nerfed in an effort to reach a perfectly balanced meta.
Ok then imagine this: You don’t lose all your hawk meter when you use your x ability but you lose 30% crit when using loyal companion engraving.
That’s basically the change that’s happening to artillerist. Permanent firepower meter buff but losing a ton of crit and 5 engraving points if you still want to go spec and not lose the 20% defense buff.
If you don’t go spec+barrage you lose 40% crit. Even worse.
Again, I value playstyle over damage numbers.
would not say that both build lost dmg form the change firepower build got overrall a dmg buff, 16% higher base dmg on skills 100% uptime on firepower meter 3 engraving now gives 25% dmg but you lose the crit rate aswell as a new strong dmg skill this is without a doubt a dmg and qol buff for fp only problem now is the missing crti could mean that keen blunt weapon is bad for swift/crit now but thats all
Yea the swift crit builds runs nightmare, needs to run it so you will not get crit from set, no crit from engravings and also not from stats cause you need high swift so the swift/crit arti also wouldn´t be that easy to build
Overall the biggest problem is removing the crit from firepower enhancement and puting him only for barrage and also got lower
think swift /crit could work with this fp3 grudg3 cd3 hm3 and then depending on on play style or amount of gold someone wants to spend adrenalin3 or barricade 3, jeah it cant use keen blunt weapon but in the end its that much of a dmg loss
Firepower Engravings awesomeness was that it scaled CRIT rate. The class requires crit…So, since we got this from our engraving, Artillerists either put their accessories into Spec or Swiftness. The implications are that now basically every single Artillerist needs to re-spec, REGARDLESS of whether they were running both class engravings.
It’s not a hugely played class, there are already almost no class specific accessories. I’m 1470 and still have 2 legendary ones because they’re 150,000+ gold each.
And lets not forget this is only about 7 weeks after they just rebalanced us. That’s BS.
i dont deny that the change comes to a bad time in a bad way and the rebuilding will be a night mare for many palyer but that dosent remove the fact that both swift/crit and crit/swift deal more dmg than now and are simpler to play
i also would say some timegated(gets removed after some days) pheons or maybe a item(also timegated) that allows players to to change stats like swift to crit but makes the item bound to player would be a good way compensation for changed classes
The issue aren’t the radical balance change, the issue is the fact that engravings are bound to accessories.
Basic character building like this shouldn’t be hostage to RNG and gold.
thats fair, and appreciate the sentiments. I’d be ok with this as well but the sad truth is that they def wont and it still won’t address the utter lack of accessories available. I for one have searched every single day for months to cobble together what I have, I wont be able to rebuild it for quite a long time. Will I still play it? Yeah for sure. But it may have to take a back seat to my other chars because I wont be able to rebuild it with all of these constraints.
And “re-balancing” isn’t necessary just for the health of the class and game…They 100% increase revenue every time
It should be fine if they increase meter gain a bit i think… maybe swap some spec for crit or go precise dagger 3 adrenaline 1 if you feel crit is lacking? I feel like it will be in s good spot if they just tweek the changes a little… i prefer crit swift build so im happy tho…
If you mentioned that changes are not final then why did you even make a post about the said changes if they aren’t final?
