If you are just getting started into sailing co-op’s you have a long road ahead of you.
Just to make your farming easier, work on your Estoque a little bit so you can actually run sailing co-ops.
Do your Una Task for Eibern’s and keep it at level 1 with a single Berald crew member, use it only when you are fighting Ghost Ship.
Over time work towards getting yourself the Astray done and then you can pump that up to level 10 with relic/legendary crew and be top dog.

Suggest you get both the astray and the ghost ship.
I think I leveled my ghost ship to 4 or 5, high enough so that I could sit for 3 minutes in the soup and not be 50% or under health. I bought the guy that gives me the buff, and he’s all I use on the ship. Ship takes me from Punika to 1415 GS, and then I bifrost back. (Trust me, you want the buff, it helps A LOT)
I just got my astray completed this week. I ran outta coins/sun coin chests, but I got it to lvl 9 and with 3/5 of the BiS sailors off the coin chests I had been keeping from events and adventure islands.
Run adventure islands that give you 5 chests…that’s 2500 sun coins. That’s going to help you get to your goal a lot faster.
Probably a couple more weeks I’ll have my astray finished.
I’ve had a lvl 11 Estoque with BIS sailors forever, and my astray is faster, but not as tough. The Estoque is much cheaper to max out and get BiS sailors also requires doing CALS rapport, and if you haven’t done that, its a bit of a slogfest.
At some point you will want all the ships as you also use them in your stronghold to do dispatch missions.

Astray with relic blackfang, relic barakas, relic wilhelm and legendary barakas, legendary wilhelm = best all round ship.
Decent meaning about 4x + the investment that an Estoque will cost you, just so you can go a little faster. Ashtray is a luxury not something you have to have.
Don’t listen to this guy. Ghost ship is so much easier with Eibern’s. I for one don’t like walking around like a snail when I do the ghost ship and the damage reduction is just icing on the cake.
Yup it’s why I don’t recommend putting a lot of early on effort into pushing for the most end of game ships.

There are really only 3 ships that matter.
Eiberns - for T3 ghost ships
Estoque - budget general purpose ship (L7 is good)
Ash tray - best general purpose ship, speed king
Every other ship is a trap. Use crew and ship skins to max the important resistances.
I disagree. Got both Eibern and astray level 10 with best available crew but still using Tragon with skyhigh storm resistance to do punika coops smoothly. Estoque is fine, only if taken care of as 1st ship in the fleet. Being an all rounder lets you cover all hazards with decent resistance. If you already have other ship you invested in, Estoque is obsolete.
Edit: If you’re up to Feiton sea coops, astray is not durable enough to cover it. Unless you plan to repair it mid events. On the other hand Eibern with a good crew can withstand a full Feiton coop with no need of pit stop repairs.

The Astray is the undisputed king of the late game seas, but lets not send the OP on a 2 month journey without at least getting some building blocks in place for them.
FYI the whale skin cannot do any sea hunting event. lol I learned that the hard way.
thats great and all being the fastest ship is cool but isnt the ashtray also the squishiest ship?
for the 2month or so investment id expect more.
oh ashtray is fast and you can win the racing sea co op mission. but then you gonna still need to wait 2 minutes till the event finished because someone is usually farming the buoy oh buoy coop weekly quest anyway. lol.
but still, if you can managed the 600k pirates coin for it and all it’s crew. it’s still the fastest ship in the game.
I’d dispute it. There’s no point to the ships late game other than to farm the co-ops, and it’s a pain with the Astray due to the more limited resists.
I personally run the Eiberns lv 10 with full relic/legendary crew. Never was a fan of the Astray so while I’ve owned it forever I never bothered to make full use of it.
I don’t spend enough time on the sea anymore to care these days.
You don’t need any other ship then estoque, lvl up to 10 and you are good to go. Try to get a skin and you get extra stuff as well, estoque is well all around ship, it has decent stats and speed, everyone will confirm. If you want fastest ship available you want astray, which is very expensive. It takes a lot of raport, pirate coins, time(unas) if you haven’t done them & crew cost a lot of sun coins. I had estoque since beginning quickly levelled it up till 10 and still use it
I only ever earn 5-6 100x coin chests from adventure islands. Are you saying there are 500x coin chest rewards?
Was my bad…was thinking of the weekly event chests that are 5x500. The island event chests are 5-6 x 100 each.
Oh yeah you get Astray for everything. There might be like one hazardous waters event where Astray gets destroyed, but it’s not like you need more than the participation price from the events anymore which is 90% of the price anyways
The only exception is Eibern’s Wound because you want the buff for the Ghost Ships since you don’t want to die there to lose feathers. The crewmate buff prevents most of that and makes the fight more bearable which is really nice
