That sounds like the same thing as, uh… just making a new account on a f2p game.
Luckily once they give you the money back you dont have to worry about this game anymore.

If I’m not mistaken, the person’s Steam account is marked with a red flag (everyone can see this). I don’t know, it doesn’t seem like a very cool thing to me.
I believe the only red flags on Steam accounts that everyone can see are VAC (Valve Anti Cheat) bans, and Lost Ark does not use this feature that I’m aware of, and a refund would not trigger it.
But it’s true if LA is linked to your Steam account you would probably need a new Steam account to play it again.
And you know what’s funny? I didn’t benefit from any of this, I received only one pack, opened only one pack, played the game normally and because of the refund system which I used before launch (and that includes the purchase as well), I was banned. The staff explained my case to me today and said that this occurred because of the PROBABILITY of people abusing the system.
That is, they are not even sure that I abused the system, someone did it and I paid the bill with it. At the end of the day you don’t have the resources to defend yourself and you just have to accept the ban, fair or unfair.

Yep - looks like AGS is just banning folks and not really interested in unbanning. A week+ and I got the same canned message after I asked AGS support.

I mean… At this point it is kinda expected for them to ban you… They probably have no clue of why you are refunding and they simply don’t care.
It is sad but it is what it is… I would refund myself honestly if my friends were still not having high hopes for AGS to fix their stuff…

Why banning without proof the guy abuse ? easier than veryfiying each account doing it constantly.
Also, read roxx answer, people who did not redeem pack are not banned.
I mean, any sensible person would know it’s kinda easy to see if people are abusing the system, but if their response is to blanket ban folks - I’m out on AGS games.
As I said, they probably don’t care… Unfortunately the original game devs probably don’t have enough resources or money to withdraw the contract and finally do the best for this game.

Imagine you buy out stuff worth 200$ over a few transactions over a few weeks.
Next paycheck comes in, you wanna drop another 50$ into the game. If there’s a hiccup like getting double charged, or if you just change your mind, you think it’s normal to be perma banned for 50$, discounting the money and time you already put in?

Never created a character on any server since launch. Wrote this for both Steam and AGS support. They denied my refund request for the Founder’s Pack. AGS can be happy that I don’t go and use my EU consumer rights to claim it anyway as it states in AGS’ Terms of Agreement, conveniently at the very end, because it’s 14.99 euro and too much of a hustle to go through all the paperwork for that.
so after reading all this, its just a matter of time until i get banned okay…
bought every pack before launch, then refunded them and decided to go only for bronze… on friday i received every founder pack because my account was flagged for it. i thought it was a bug, like the people with 10 platinum bugs from the start. so i used all the items. well the bann would be rightful but i think ags sucks big times if they do this. i would pay for all of it, but i think thats no option… so the waiting game begins… account is not banned yet
If you did a refund on friday and server maintenance was on wednesday I would think they dodged a ban… most of everyone Ive talked to got their accounts banned after server maintenance or within a few days. who knows tho could be delayed.

I refunded a week before Release. Well definately not spending any more money until 2 weeks passes 
Read my thread here I was permabanned for refunding in preorder and buying again in preorder after playing the game for a week but I didn’t ask for a refund or even try to refund after the game went live in headstart.
Made multiple tickets for ban appeal with proof of my steam tickets and purchase/refund history with dates.
If you refunded before the release youre fine as long as you didnt active the key if bought on Amazon. If you bought on Steam and you refunded 2 weeks before release, youre fine.
I’m not this kind of people thank God. And this is a nice case of: guilty until proven innocent. My congratulations to those who took advantage of the exploit!
