I wanted to come in here and rant, but instead took a shower and composed myself first. .
So I’m okish in group PVP and supporting a team. While I don’t really care for the PVP islands, I feel I just can’t get a leg up in them. Running a 1v1 build I can stall and kite players but that doesn’t do so well when killing is the objective.
What it typically comes down to is I attempt to stunlock/knock back into soundaholic. Sometimes based on cds and class I’m playing against it works, but if it’s almost any melee class I usually get deleted after they get out of it.
What it seems to come down to is my ability for raw dmg output. When I wind x2 2-4K a hit soundaholic for 4 ticks at 7k a hit, and the other player jumps out and their very first attack not only juggles me but also hits me for 18 to 45k, I feel I’m always at a severe disadvantage.
Now typically I’d avoid these scenarios but unfortunately island souls are locked behind this content.
Oh I guess after my story I never even asked a question but thankfully you got my drift.
So that’s actually a no…I don’t. I’ve done basic research but never have engravings pop up, I just run my solo build engravings which are Preemptive, spirit, awakening, heavy armor. Cards are my typical 3x 4% hp.
Definitely equip a protection rune on your soundholic. People LOVE to 3rd party bards, since they consider it an easy kill. Unfortunately you have to be highly mobile, which can be a difficulty for our class. AFAIK your engravings are shut off on some if not all of these islands, which means you have to depend on your immediate skills/tripods.
I never come out on top, but am either 3rd or 4th on islands like Death’s hold. I do hope you’re using a counter skill like rhythm buckshot to stop the spammers, since they are likely to kill you off the quickest.
Thanks! Yea I use max-roll traditional 1v1 build. I’ve adopted a hit and run tactic and have seen quite a few 3rd and higher last 24 hours. It’s not really what I’d call fun though . It is heavily reliant on what classes are present. And yes literally everyone b-lines me when I’m in the picture.
