Best way to leave a guild?

One of my alts ‘inherited’ an alt guild and became the new guildmaster after the original one hadn’t logged on for a while. I assume I had the most donations, I wasn’t an officer or anything.

There’s no saving this guild – only 3 semi-active players, level 4 guild, the name isn’t catchy.

But my alt’s the current guildmaster. I want to leave, but am I going to get hit by a bigger penalty if I leave while the GM vs. transferring ownership to someone else first?

Does disbanding the guild cause a bigger penalty or a smaller one?

How about the impact on other members (the two of them)?

Just transfer ownership to one of these 2 and consider it job done.
