Continuing the discussion from Shadowhunter Demon Form Skin Tone:
Their demographic/culture visualizes demons to have light skin tone. Their definition of beauty consists of having a light skin tone. From Korean actors to idols to entertainment as a whole, their beauty standard is of light skin tone.
The reason why shadowhunters have a dark skin tone in NA/EU is a mixture from being concern/sensitive topic of race/diversity that ranges from apparently some feedback during the beta phase where someone pointed out the issue from a dark skin tone character transforming into a light skin tone demonic form to trying to find a balance that might put AGS in a neutral stance where they can claim they made it gray like boss rush colors. It’s just that various situations affect the lighting + graphic settings from the actual individual player may make it pitch black to light chocolate skin tone to murky gray.

Can someobody find a picture with a dark toned KR shadowhunter and see if they retain their dark skin tone on tranformation as well?

They do not because it’s two separate things.
The transformation is a static that will forever remain that specific way.
The dark tone customization players do during character customization/reskin ticket is a different thing.
You may look different during your transformation depending on your graphical settings + actual content that you’re doing with different light conditions.
They dont retain anything, it simply changes to the white KR model, there’s no customization for it yet even tho it’s something that they said they want to introduce in the future, guess that’s the only way we might be able to have a decent SH transformation, since AGS is so fixed on ruining every version we get

It is one of the dumbest things I’ve seen them say.
The skin tones are irrelevant, this is a conscious choice to change how the transformation model works just to obscure what the skin tone is, so they can comply with their stupid forced diversity mentality.
Instead of giving choice, since Smile Gate probably would deny them investing development time for such a thing, they simply applied a cheap filter to the model, which you can see coming off from different angles and lighting in-game.
This is just another case of them forcing useless shit on this version of the game and not knowing how to properly implement or handle it. AGS living to their terrible reputation, yet again, shockers.

What they did does kind of make sense… i don’t support racism at all and am unhappy about the sh look that we got but what’s the target audience’s skin color in russia, japan and korea?
That doesn’t really make any sense cause if it was based on target audience skin color, even in the west the majority would still be white i’d guess

just because the majority is white doesnt mean it’s nice to have your dark skinned character change into white.
it’s the exact same thing with the people who didnt like having their white characters changing to a darker tone.
dont promote double standards please.

People promote leaving it as is originally. If you can’t add the choice, then just don’t change it. Right now the model looks really bad since it’s just a cheap filter to obscure any resemblance of skin color.

It is, but the majority is still white, that’s the point
that’s also why i always asked for the choice between this version and the KR version, why force people into one or the other and make them mad when you can simply give them the choice

*The US and it’s still only 13%. Europe (according to Roxx, EUC is the by far biggest region) has a black population of less than 2%. Screw the 98%…amazon logic.

its for “diversity”, look what they did to RoP. They completely destroyed LoTR lore.
I get how they just want the demon form to be dark but come on, you don’t just make an excuse like " Due to the range of skin tones available for player characters in our version of the game" which is just pure bullshit no matter how you look at it.
Can they at least try to be convincing or it just another example of AGS not knowing what they’re talking about…

I’m pretty sure we’re all sol here… they already made their decision. Nothing will change it. Sg won’t change it so it transforms into whatever skin color is on your character either. What’s done is done, sad day for all of us sh mains.
This is a good reason for me to spend less on their black fri packs.
