Blade nerf kr test server

Surge engraving has never applied on pvp you might be confusing the ability with the engraving or there is a part of the patch i didn’t read.

Pvp blade hasn’t changed at all with the ptr

There is a lot of testing on the PTR so you are probably right.

Depending one whether the resource generation nerf stays or goes, I’ll probably just switch over to RE. It’s not like they play that differently anyways. Also after hearing saint talk about how often legion bosses just leave and make your surge useless, I may switch anyways.

I stopped honing on my blade. Seems like a waste right now. Going to wait and see how the nerfs play out.

The rather significant hit to healing while in Mayhem seems to contradict your statement.

The balance pass is basically just XML changes, I would imagine once it has passed in KR, we’ll probably see it in the next monthly update.

Where do you guys see all the Kor PTR patch notes?

Losing motivation on playing the character you call your main by reading about nerfes. lmao
Doesnt look like Deathblade is your main, looks like “Meta” is your main.
my main is deathblade as well and the nerf is more than fine.

thats bullshit, you get 65% less damage with mayhem + you can heal all the way up with the smallest hp potion since only shields are affected.
you look squishy but you are definitely not squishy.
I never hit crits close to that number I hit with my berserker twink.
Its such a extremely high damage+brainless class that its the best choice for me as a twink

when my Awakening in combination with Surge Skill + Dark Grenades gets 100% crit I maybe get to half of the damage in much more time. Animations are slow on Berserker but with casting speed runes its not that long + the reward for it are heavy hitting attacks and high numbers. (yes, ofc this is a event guardian raid but I never got close to it with any other character except gunslinger which came close to it)

  • a reason why you arent as squishy as you think: if you get a critical hit you just cancel mayhem, get 25% hp back and wait until u can use it again

thats not true, you give up 3/4 of your hp for 2/3 less damage taken.
you take super low damage

Surge blade was the strongest dps spec in the entire game period.

The nerf is completely justified, understandable, asked for and expected to happen.

Same, I’m already building up my Deadeye. Surge will be dead anyone who says otherwise honestly doesnt know what they’re talking about. 50% dmg nerfs plus killing his core mechanic by reducing how effective it is has to be the most insane “balance” adjustment ive ever seen any game even consider.

It was very dramatic to even come up with those numbers. How do you even work with that? Seriously, lets just assume they decide to implament half of that, even then… thats a pretty heavy nerf. I get the feeling that is their plan. To have claimed they are goign to make these drastic nerfs then at the end of the day say " you know what guys, you’re right, we got the numbers and instead of 50% nerf we’re doing 40% nerf. You guys should feel grateful. " and leave players feeling like we actually got lucky. We are on the strong side, i agree but I dont get anywhere near as many MVP’s as say a Paladin, Sorcs, Bard. The only time I outdps these classes is when all the stars align and I play perfect, land everything which is never the case. Sometimes boss moves a bit and u get a side hit, sometimes u get front hit sometimes you dont land at all.

I feel like balance team are going to heavily on numbers and dont actually effectively play their classes. Deadeye is another example of that. No buffs? Their numbers are high and yet ive literally never seen an EW Deadeye MVP and on top of that it’s the least wanted/played class. Their approach to balancing seems lackluster.

Edit: Sorry obviously not talking about BARD OR PALADIN just meant they get MVP way more than I do or any other class does.

Change nerf for murder cause the class now has 1 engraving.

If sorcs and zerks can now only play the engraving that wasn’t nerfed then yeah the nerfs are equal.

I’ve lived through far too many games with PTRs for this to mean much of anything. These days I fully expect reported bugs and broken classes to leave PTR onto live, because modern devs…well, I’ll end my post here before I make too many assumptions.

Needless to say, my trust in PTRs fixing big issues before release is pretty much nonexistent. We will see, though.

This is my perspective as a completely …average ? player with very little experience and by doing completely unprofessional testing by just using a 1800 spec 600 crit and engravings in the training grounds on a static boss with no real rotation knowledge.

I guess that would be fair for the average player experience:

Surge : In 3 minutes , ~700k dps and 126.5 mil dmg done
RE: In 3 minutes, ~600k dps and 100mil dmg done

I wish they would give more information on how much each ability does. But considering the surges were hitting 10 mil and I think I was getting 3 releases per minute (20 stacks)? So out of that 126.5 mil around 90 mil were surge blades ? So if my non-math is correct with the nerf this would acually equalize the damage pretty well for the average Joe.

Of course this is all 10 minutes of probably wrong testing, gems and runes wrong and doesn’t take into account the other nerfs surge got.

P.s don’t take this seriously, it’s just to show what the average guy might get, since it differs greatly from what actual testing can show from knowledgable players

This is what you have to worry about when you pick the strongest classes for pvp

I’m not throwing shade desthblade is a sick class and I’m sure its really fun

The only problem is that it performs too well in pvp
And they usually overdo nerfs but you may also be surprised

Look how strong lance master/glavier is after it had a “massive” nerf

Every class is viable in pvp some just perform a little better than others
Deathblade will still be good but it will be different

The problem comes when you can’t get 20 stacks in with endgame raids, then your dmg tanks.

yea in the ideal world i would agree you should just play what you like, but in a world where you might not even get last picked to the kickball game, your game experience will vastly depend on if you play a popular class or not.
i am demoting my main to alt status just because its fine playing the character in single player, but in group content it’s just not as fun as if i play other characters atm

everyone should roll a pally.
easy to play, good in all content, plus it’ll help against the support draught people are having in t3 XD

But pally is probably going to be nerfed as well lmao

at least not soon, by the ptr testing patch their nerf gun doesn’t seem to have pallies in the crosshairs… yet
