Blue Crystals Prices Are Not The Problem. It Is The Lost Ark's Community

The problem right now is the 3 day waiting period has broken the addiction to compulsive spending for people who would fail the marshmallow test.

I think the Legendary Skin/p2 win argument is a tangent that staunch white knights grasp onto for dear life. Can we stop using that argument lmao.

We’re pretty aware the damage gain is minimal, it’s the gacha system behind it that is typically not welcome in the west.

Didn’t say I wouldn’t buy the skin, but nty on re-rolling it through an RNG System with no pity, or paying inflated prices through the AH. From my perspective, if they never add Legendary Skins, it’s whatever.

I don’t know where this “but whales will leave without F2P” come from. Sounds like copium trying to justify F2Pers existence.

Whales absolutely don’t care if there are F2Pers around or not to continue their spending. Even in Genshin, a mostly single-player game, people whale on it and absolutely don’t care about the existence of F2Pers.

In fact, we would rather prefer you F2Pers to be gone. At least then, we would have our Legendary Skins in the game.

Whales spend on 2 things. Big numbers, and skins.
Taking out skins already reduces the number of whales by half.

The whale community for Lost Ark I am in has mostly quit because there are no cosmetics to spend on. Most commonly cited reason? No Legendary Skins.
And those who have left aren’t coming back.

And now, the second group who whale for big numbers have already reached the gear cap and have no reason to spend anymore.

Once there’s nothing to spend on, spenders will leave.

This current Blue Crystals being too pricey is a debacle caused by F2Pers whining and getting Legendary Skins removed and causing a large chunk of the whale community to not have something to spend on and quit.

I’m actually glad seeing you guys struggle now.

Gtfo man, whales left cuz game sucks and they already bought everything they need. Not because f2p (who most of them quit) made them leave. Get a grip

Whale or not, nobody wants to play a low pop mmo or a dead game. F2Pers quit → Game is done for. Some whales quit → nobody cares, there’s enough funding from other whales.

You already explained it yourself, it’s supply and demand.

Whales get value from supplying. The less F2P and low spenders you have the less value whales get due to decrease in demand.

The entire dynamic of the market rests on this. F2P people also need whales/spenders to move the market.

If you remove F2P/low spenders from this equation, whales can still get value from the shop, but only a fraction of what they get on a vibrant and active market.

Other games have different mechanics.

What’s wrong with that exactly?

If you want to keep playing the game for free, this is the literal thing that allows you to do so. Players buying RC with real money and selling them for gold so that you, a F2P can also interact with the Mari’s shop/game store. You have NO right to complain that not enough people are buying royal crystals if you yourself choose not to do so. It’s designed in a way so that game can be funded and enjoyed for free at the same time.

They are even too generous with the system. I would’ve made all cosmetics exclusively RC only and unsellable in the AH. That would’ve made much more money than just cheap system like pheons that keeps players spending.

Blue crystal prices are due to:

  1. The holding limit of gold for 3 days - no whales not even regular spenders will use the exchange if their gold is being held for 3 days. You have now a situation of where skins and gold from RC being delay for these spenders, but gold are still being generated from daily content.

  2. The conversion of royal crystal into blue crystal is quiet frankly not enough to keep up with the demand on top of the delay.

This is all not the faults of the players, but AGS/SG side. You supported AGS to strangle and singled out players using VPN, etc. up to this point is the result, just like supporting the 3-days lock down is now the cause of this as well.

So true!

It has nothing to do with the community. The fact that the devs put in the 3-day gold suspension hold while releasing a large volume of the most popular summer cosmetics in the history of the game that are purely RC locked that then after 3 days sell for double their RC value; means that the whole problem was created by the devs this time

So before the crystal market/macro economy was largely ruined by RMTing and whatever came with it. Then it was fixed to a large degree, but as soon as the economy healed, the devs decided to ruin the macro economy again with this very poor decision that is the direct cause for the latest rises in prices

Bruh you don’t play on SA, you don’t know anything about the struggle there. Stop it.

its only going to get higher. its way worse in Korea lol

why are people even complaining about this lol. Gold is so free in this game its not even funny. i dont even blink when i exchange for blue crystals lol.

Sounds like I hit too close to home.

Think of F2Ps as the cute girls at the club.

I see some of them more like weird and loud twitter girls demaning stuff all the time because some people can afford stuff they don’t.

lmao right between the eyes :joy:

blah blah blah. youre completely ignoring the fact that RMT swipers bought literally millions of gold and then bought way more blue crystals than anyone is supposed to have access to, thus completely destroying the price for normal players

If whales get RC and then purchase skins just to sell inorder to get more Gold than straight to converting.
→ Blame F2P-Players

If whales go over RMT instead of legit RC.
→ Blame F2P-Players

If whales are overgeared with perfect setup, but suck at mechs. Need bus.
→ Blame F2P-Players

If a store isn’t financially effective, because the service sucks. Don’t blame the customers, it’s the store.
