So far, as far as I’m aware, AGS/SG have implemented several things to try and combat the rampant botting that is taking place.
- Area chat restricted to level 30+ (horrible for new players)
- Trading restricted to level 30+ (probably not much of an impact here)
- Limiting some game functionality to only Steam “trusted” accounts (aka Steam accounts that have spent $5+ and are in use 30+ days since that transaction. (Only impacts a very small portion of players, probably not a big deal)
- Reduced currency from Chaos Dungeon gold portals. (bad for ALL players)
- Reduced gold rewards from rapport. (bad for ALL players)
Well… the bots are still here spamming and tele/speed hack farming. They’re still having an objectively negative impact on the game experience of a large portion of the playerbase.
Is there any chance we’re going to see any of these changes reverted since they’ve had zero discernable impact to the average player? Will AGS/SG admit that some of these strategies haven’t really had the desired impact?
Or are we just doomed to a diminished player experience AND the same botting that we’ve had to deal with for almost two months indefinitely?
