I just tried to finish the chaos gate at 12 am ET in Punica. I was fighting the next to last boss when a very large bot train moved to the final boss. I could not get into the final boss fight because the entrance was blocked by a wall. The block clear and I got in after the bots killed it and I got no reward.
IDK - Apparently, I could not disengage and access the final boss faster than the train. If the game is not playable…
You should read patch notes more thoroughly.
For the Red Portal Chaos gate (and Punika is always Red) the second to last Boss spawns portal under him after he is killed. You need to use that portal to get to the last Boss. You cannot just run there, the wall block you now.
This is how it works since Artist Release patch.

I have not run a Chaos Gate in a while and I have not seen that. A portal would explain how the large bot train suddenly was at the final boss. I don’t have time to to keep up with all of the patch notes minutia. I am sure there is a reason they did it that way.
I work nights when there is lower population and I kind of don’t mind having the bots helping me clear it if they are not messing with me.
Being able to teleport to last boss from 2nd to last boss has always been a thing. You always see a couple of people(or perhaps bots) running the whole way tho’. But a little bit of “paying attention” and these people would see that everyone else is teleporting.
Just the fact that you didn’t realise everyone else was teleporting calls some of your observations into question. While you maybe/probably don’t play on the same region as me, very rarely do you actually see bots in chaos gates on my server. I would bet most of the others in your CG were actually players and you’ve placed yourself in a mind cage of thinking they were bots because they did something you didn’t do.
As for why they changed the wall so it doesn’t crumble after killing Repletio. I can only guess they want to actually punish bots there were on a “follow line from points X to Y” program. Or there’s some individual that hates the people he sees running on the dev team. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
