FFXIV has had hundreds of them teleporting around in huge packs for years… the GM delete them, they come back. There is nothing else you can do. Even in a Subscription game FFXIV is un able to rid them.
Runescape has dealt with it for years
WoW too…
List goes on…
Stop spaming the forums about bots LOL you’re acting like a bot doing that.
You sound really experienced on this so who better to ask then. I play FFXIV and would love to know how the bots they have in that game impact the Auction House markets along with the Currency Exchange market. Also keep in mind that the currency exchange market rates change depending on how many players are actively buying/trading currencies to exchange. Which is why they tend to tank a couple hours before reset, then shoot back up during peak times. You’re not wrong, but if we’re drawing comparisons, we need to lay out what can be done with botting in each game and how it affects each aspect of the game.
The point is you cant do anything about it unless you force Social security numbers to account ID’s like how they do in Korea for lost ark.
Bots are in every game and a constant battle to ban them, regardless of how it effected its economy specifically, it is not easy to just remove bots. I’m not so sure anyone understands this LOL
Lmao! Did you just compare FFXIV’S 1-3 gathering & fate grinding bots, seen once in a blue moon amongst tens of thousands of players per server, and the occasional gil spammer that vanishes in less than 10 mins of their first msg??? VS the Thousands of bots on a single server across multiple zones and on every single channel? That have destroyed the value of everything at this point, and now they’re max level entering late game zones, this is just the beginning.
P.S. The only reason FFXIV has bots is due to morons buying gil and having their accounts stolen, and or their free trial periods, outside of those times you almost never see a bot. I know I’ve been playing since 1.0.
I like how you use runescape as an example when you can constantly see on botting forums accounts getting banned. If we go back even further the botting was so bad, jagex resorted to suing the bot company, and im pretty sure they actually hired the guy to help battle future bots.
I’ve played ffxiv for 8 years. You can see groups of bots in packs of 10’s teleporting from NPC token trade ins over and over making hundreds of bots per server doing it. All of them are black mages. Idk why you type that long paragraph to defend that.
Yeah runescape is a good example of them combating bots constantly and never winning… that was my point. You can ban and ban and ban and ban and ban and ban but it will come back…unless you do what Korea does…
It’s okay… I think at this point we’re all pretty frustrated and while it’s the ‘norm’ for many games, it’s still not fun and expressing anger is valid. Letting us know these things does help the team too, knowing how severe a problem is. The videos do help too, showing us both their usernames and what they are doing. The team is working hard on ways to combat the current problem but reporting is currently the most helpful thing.
No game has successfully removed bots fully outside of Korean games that require Social Security ID to create an account. Because if you bot then get banned, you can’t remake a new account. This is the only way.
Amazon Games can ban the bots, but can’t ban new accounts. How they fix this is the real issue.
It doesn’t require only player reports to get banned. Right now im content knowing that at least the bots are out and about, so at least players can report them.
What worries me, is seeing how fast these bots are advancing, its only a matter of time til theyre running chaos dungeons, ruining the economy cause none of them are getting reported.
While runescape doesnt 100% solve the bot problem, its usually understood that botting isnt worth risking on the main.
We have them in SWTOR, but they have taken some action. Not exactly sure but we don’t have as many as we used to. They have some sort of system (not social security numbers) and the main problem is when we report them they get banned but how many can we do that before it gets filled up. I have played SWG, SWTOR, and Wow and this is the worst I have seen in a long time. Hopefully there is something they can figure out to stop them.
Lol did you really post a video showing footage compiled over 7 years with characters in starting gear, and sprout icons? And the most they could show is maybe 50 amongst all the clips? Which again was more than likely during come back campaigns and free trials early on. Go find them RIGHT NOW in game and record them.
You can literally search any one of their names on lodestone right at this moment, and you will find if you’re lucky 1, and I’m talking lotto lucky.
Korea still has bots, not nearly as many obviously, however how do you think NA streamers and others played on Korean servers before Russian servers?
edit I’ve wasted enough time with someone trying to compare other games few bots to the HUNDREDS per hour. There is 50 bots per 1 actual player currently on NA east Avesta on a single channel, which once again impact the entire market and game.
