Bots are nothing new

STOP normalizing Bots. How about that?

You logic is like this:
“Yeah humans have been killing each other since the beginning of humanity, stop demonstrating against war, you cant do anything anyway”

already repoting for 2 weeks but nothing happen… if you ban them the bot have feature “auto change steam acc”… probably they already have 1000 steam acc, sence you can use outlook to make email without any phone number. ban the goal of bot “making raw gold 410g/3 hour 1 acc and also multiboxing”. @Shadow_Fox

and also they are speed hack(like movement + atk speed become 2x more faster)… you can’t do that in game dude

Keep plugging your ears (not like there’s much else taking up space in there)

It’s on the character creation menu as was explained to you earlier multiple times

You’re trippin… ffxiv bots do everything…

Duties / Raids / Questing / PoTD / HoH / trusts / all those grind zones like eureka etc…

FFXIVs bots are next level

You think you know but you dont, one of ffxivs bots has 10’s of thousands of users, you just wouldn’t know because despite what you believe bots arent easy to identify when they are doing the exact same shit normal players are doing

i mean i provided you a source showing that the classes supported on some of the tools are every class not just sorc and berserk…

again, it could be people rolling alts or anything… just because they have high populations of 2 classes does not mean they are all bots…

In my alts i have a zerker and a sorc and a paladin and a soul fist and an artillerist

you can’t even prove the characters have ever been played… it’s extremely flawed data.

But yes, there is definitely people cheating in the game. Guess everyone that has a sorc and zerker on their roster is just cheating now.

FFXIV has one of the Best / Worst botting scenes of any games because SE literally never bans them… if you goto the forums or discords you’ll even see them talk about how great it is botting in ffxiv 24/7 with no reprecussions unless they are fate grinding for like 2 weeks straight and get reported multiple times.

Not only that but as i stated previously ffxiv has probably the most advanced bots publicly available than any other game on the market and they literally have plugins n stuff that do every aspect of t he game.

So I run one of the largest guilds in FFXIV NA on a high pop server; I’ve cleared all the present savage tier week 1 and have for ages within a short time, done all the ultimates. Our guild is also one of the wealthiest on the FFXIV server. Our guild runs 4 static groups for savage and 3 for ultimates.

We’re gold capped on several throwaway characters for an example.

We take measures to prevent gold selling and botting by funneling and fostering RP communities. We have several large FC’s in Balmung for an example that we downright pay for. The brute of those people aren’t even interested in RAIDING or PLAYING the game. So when they need gold for houses to create venues and decorations, where do you normally think they go to? Gold buyers and botters. So by us funneling them for free, it marginalizes the impact on the community. And as a crafter, I can see how much this fluctuates to normal players who don’t get involved.

We have a large team that works with high-end raiding guilds (even more so now thanks to cross server) to prepare them for week 1 raids. We get potions, predict the farming routes and et cetera to get people their gear ASAP. They pay us to pentameld and the whole shebang ASAP.

I can tell you definitively that bots play a huge factor in this and always do because the cost of materials gets ramped up by players purchasing gold and buying things off the auction house. Now while ideally we’d like to avoid using the AH, there are times when we make mistakes and to correct them we don’t have the time to farm or reach out to sub-teams working with us for an exchange.

In turn, we go to the AH. The cost of most of those materials becomes supply and demand sure but after playing since 1.0 whenever I see players completely decked out in pentamelded crap week 1 on our high pop server and they have no DOH/DOL leveled I have to eye them as to where they get that gold and we both know that the brute of them do so by gold buying from bots.

FFXIV circumvented that by making its most important gear completely independant from any form of purchasable assets. If you want to have the best gear in the game you have to A) do your dailies and B ) Raid to upgrade the gear from dailies while combining it with raiding dropped gear in savage tier and c ) Ultimates. NONE OF THIS IS TRADABLE AT ALL.

Weapons from the raid always drop +5 ilvls higher and do more damage bar none.

This is their direct fight against gold buyerss / botters. Who then turn to people that purchase houses on FFXIV and sit on a fortune.

XIV combatted that by changing the entire schematics of the housing situation by making it so that you can’t just sell houses in 5.1 the way you can presently and in the past.

So now the definitive value and impact of gold will remain contained. No more people buying large amounts of gold from botters to purchase mansions. Look at how this directly affected the cost of housing. It will affect lazy people who don’t want to craft. And people who don’t have DOH/DOL leveled up and wish to get ahead of the savage tier early.

So your statement is really, really ignorant towards the fight against bots.

Everything in Lost Ark can contribute to your end-game. If you buy gold from gold buying websites, it directly effects the playerbase. In T3 the prices are disgusting for things we need so many of. Example, Igniter for Sorc Legendary Book is 80k+ I sold TWO of them. 160k GOLD.

So either the person who bought the book is swiping his card for Lost Ark or swiping their card to a gold buyer. This directly effects the cost for F2P players and punishes those people. Not at all contained like in FFXIV.

So when people complain about bots in Lost Ark it’s important to realize they’re literally highlighting the direct impact bots have on the game as a whole. The bots farm gold, inflate the server, devalue the gold and ruin it for everyone.

Edit: Here’s a direct example

From a website selling gold that I just went to go check, 150k gold is $USD 125.08

On Lost Ark should you use their currency exchange… NA Valtan…

That’s 54,740 Royal Crystals.

12,000 Royal Crystals for $100 bucks or $100 euros, buddy.

That is 4.56…

That’s $460 USD for $150k gold.

Or you can just take your chances with a gold seller and buy from them for $125 USD.

That is a HUGE issue in the F2P market and for players around the world.

Same as here, the only reason for those bots is cuz morons buying gold, the problem is the ppl

It has never been as bad as in this game though.
Because of the f2p model, where its super easy to just create new accounts, its exceptionally bad.

Also, they don’t have GMs or something.

The problem is not that there are bots (This will almost always be the case, especially with EAC as anti cheat tool) but the sheer numbers there are. Like seriously, I truly believe its like 30-40% of players.
Also, bots create queues. I believe without that much bots, the queues would be almost gone by now.

Dude, did you even read my question before typing all this out? I play FFXIV and I know this all very well. All I did was say “I play FFXIV and would love to know how the bots they have in that game impact the Auction House markets along with the Currency Exchange market.” You typed out this how this entire piece to say you play a part in this whole thing. Okay? I’m the one saying that bots have a large impact in the in-game exchange and want to hear a comparison to that in FFXIV. How in the world do you get this assumption “So your statement is really, really ignorant towards the fight against bots.” out of all that? Check my posts history, I’m the person making posts and bumping threads trying to combat this.

The reply wasn’t meant to you. I’m sorry for the confusion.

Please forgive me there.

I had quoted another person when I was typing and I believe I misclicked you.

However there’s your comparison.

That’s false. You can go to the lodestone and see the action taken against bots. They will tell you how many they banned, etc.

It doesn’t happen daily, it takes time to correctly ban the correct people. Which is what everyone has the hardest time understanding, that DUH AMAZON WILL BAN THE BOTS IT JUST TAKES TIME.

they ban bots involved in RMT… and RMT players… rarely do they ban non RMT botters. go read the discords, these guys love the fact SE doesn’t touch them

i don’t have a hard time understanding anything, i’m fully expecting smilegate and amazon to get ontop of it sooner rather than later.

I CANNOT WITH THE LACK OF KNOWLEDGE AND ILLOGICAL COMMENTS LMFAO

You think these bots are botting in Lost Ark for FUN??? You dont think they are here for RMT??

HOW DO THE DEVS READ ALL THESE COMMENTS FROM THESE PEOPLE AND SURVIVE LMAO

You’re the only one seeming to lack knowledge… you think all bots are running just for RMT or something, people do it for all kinds of reasons, disability, laziness, lack of skill, not wanting to do the grind, thats why bots offer functions outside of just the ability to farm gold, because thats not the only reason people use a bot. I see a bunch of people in 1 particular discord for one of the bot products for this game that has a couple of hundred users and none of them are running multiple accounts or farming gold, they all seem to just wanna be able to do their rotation for them and run chaos dungeons.

I’m not even sure what your argument is to be honest, i fully agree that amazon and smilegate will get ontop of the bots at some point they just need time to work it out.

my original point about ffxiv stands and regardless how you feel about it, RMT is not the only reason people bot.

The best way to stop bots is to have mobile verification on making steam accounts and that being 1 per account or even an ID structure like Korea.

It will heavily slow bots being made in high quantities.

Right now you can make a steam account very easily with little to no effort.

So 2 elements:

  1. steam level verification like mobile number or ID.
  2. better in-game moderation tools. (Which are already in development).

What I am happy about is bots not being able to progress to higher level dungeons because of the gear I level lockouts and story prereqs.

Ive got faith Smilegate has a plan to smash bots out and that AGS will be facilitating this asap :3

hmmm what about if the bot running around for 1 month with massive population … and now they are start to tier 2 and 3 botting with thousand char selling their material to auction… ohhh dear i forgot so u can buy really cheap honing material, and also u can buy gold from third party website with a very cheap price then change that to blue crystal… so u got really cheap price for your blue crystal rather than buying from store (royal crystal>blue crystal).

the bot are okay if they just 2-5% of population… and the time take to ban them was so fast, like 2 weeks… not 1 month and still nothing happen rather than getting worse.

yup there is probably a small chane that someone buying a bot just for gold and converting them to blue crystal, the reason amazon not banning them cuz they increaseing value of blue crystal… if you buying blue crystal than want to exchange that to gold… More interesting seeing 100 blue crystal = 780g rather than seeing 100 blue crystal=230g. just my opinion

what’s the point of bots, when you could get banned for RMT buying gold from them? If ppl don’t buy gold from them, then the Bots would reduce surely?

It is tempting with the prices which are far cheaper, but would you risk your account being perm banned and losing all that time you spent?
