That 3300 gold is supposed to be a large sum of money.
Youâre not wrong under normal circumstances. But youâve forgotten 1 thing, now the 5 who rmted and supplying those book sellers with the huge amount of profits. What do you think those lucky sellers will be in return from earning that much. Buying out the other rare/uncommon books and inflating them as well. Its pretty much a cycle of how the excess gold flows.
Look here is the overall picture that I have in my head subjectively from this whole fiasco. Basically, if youâre just a regular joe trying to play the game and get through it and as you stumble upon each checkpoint you want to get into groups to further your progression, youâre going to meet some hurdles along the way, naturally. However, in this case, those hurdles look pretty frightening for regular joe. You reach 1370 and start looking to join groups for gate 1 Argos progression. Well, no oneâs going to take you in because your engravings suck. Alright well, you look up the engraving prices on the market place and theyâre way out of your budget. Oh, you need 20 of them? Well thatâs no good⌠What else can I do? Oh yeah, I can buy accessories. Well⌠Nope⌠theyâre 200k a piece now. Regular joe is simply going to quit the game.
which is also why now farming abyss dungeon or gold contents feels like pocket change when it comes to selling inflated mats instead.
Right, and then also more and more players feel under pressure to RMT themselves, because they need things from AH that are priced by other RMT players. And so it mushrooms to the point where legit players with actual gold they generated themselves in the game have no chance to source anything in the AH, and simply get excluded from the all-important âkeeping up with the curve to get in groupsâ, and they face the choice of either RMT themselves or quit.
@MashiXIII Totally agree regarding that point. As I said, this will lead to a massive inflation over time and all goods will become more expensive. The thing I tried to point out is that we must be careful when looking (isolated) at prices of some very rare goods and say âwow look at that, so much inflationâ. These insane prices now are driven by very few people and are not sustainable. Inflation will kick in afterwards when the gold is already more evenly distributed among players.
Thats what some of my friends are feeling as of now. Being demotivated after one of em farmed 2 t3 characters and 4 feiton alts. Some even considered rmt-ing to catch up for the upcoming contents.
The issue is, when a handful of people who have RMTâd are willing to pay whatever the cost to buy something, all the items listed in the same bracket will be hiked up artificially accordingly, pricing out literally everyone in the middle of the pack. At this point it just becomes a huge mess. That is precisely what is happening with the books right now. âIf someoneâs willing to pay it, thatâs the costâ.
Yeah tho how long till it kicks in because there are always rmters who is sustaining those absurd book prices. This will attract those who like u mentioned only when very frustrated to rmt as well. I can only assume this will last months if AGS doesnt look into it. I experienced this back then during Japan server launch. Same issue and it took a few months for things to calm down after the publisher took the free gold boxes out from the lvling quests. It kinda baffles me that there are 3 region server before AGS and the game has been out for years yet smilegate has yet to learn from this mistake. Jpn server launched with the free 3k gold box per account was a good case study for them as well.
Japan was the one region I didnât play on. Did they have any kind of login requirement similar to how Korea uses Stove?
hmm what kind of login requirement as I never try kr before.
Accounts are connected to a Korean social number. KSSNID I believe it was called. Was a long time ago.
Oh that, no japan doesnt have this requirement. Anyone can create an account as long youâre not ip blocked.
See this is another reason why weâre having this issue, and also another way the previous regions could be used as case study. FYI during the initial 2 weeks of Korean open beta, they had a huge influx of Chinese players. So much so that queue times were 4-5 hours. Smilegate worked extra hard to amend this as soon as they could. Also another reason why they didnât have turbo bot issues. Not sure why we didnât have some kind of gatekeeping like this in place, or why it wasnât heavily considered ahead of time.
Saw in another post the gold generated is much more then what ppl though they did. they earn enough gold to convert to crystals and then buy the t3 gems and sell those for 1900g gold according to the post. if that is true they generate more then twice the estimated gold.
You canât get T3 gems from Mariâs shop with blue crystals, but you did mention something of note, and thatâs the fact that they buy blue crystals. People were still buying blue crystals for typical account use such as unlocking skill pages and stuff. Doing that is completely unaffordable for most people at this point in time as the prices have been hiked up to the hinges from the bots.
I do not think you understood share problem .And how bots are flooding market with gold⌠A bit of reserch about funneling gold to main accounts via bot gathering teleport and you will understood how they coild afford this prices
I understand your point and you are right when you said we shouldnât reach conclusion prices of rare goods alone.
But what worries me, and others too I assume, is not just price tag of rare items but volume, price and successful sales happening. There is a lot of people buying overpriced rarities including skins, mounts, maps etc. This shows there is an unusual gold circulation in market.
Again there shouldnât be this much gold in the servers yet we see these transactions happening, showing us the threat of RMT thus the cause, BOTS.
There was a 1.2million crystal buy on the Currency Exchange last week. 1.2 Million in 2 Weeks? Yeah sure
Inflationâs really bad rn. Bots arenât something AGS can afford to ignore.
Also, was there ever an announcement that duped founders packs were removed? I only remember getting a free pseudo pack from amazon.
