I actually have 4 chars in T3. 1395, 1370, 1325, 1310. And I enjoy this game, no matter what, I know how to make gold for myself. no need to move on to this. And no, I actually don´t want to sell you some stuff for 1 gold. ok?

I know the haters, the gold buyers, and the bot farmers are also here. So yes the whole “circus” will sit together here on this topic, but I’m telling you, I don´t want to spend my time with certain “clowns”, so listen once…

So you want to buy adventure tomes for 1 Gold on the market right? U enjoy this? As a Player or what? Why would I put real effort into Excavation or doing other stuff, if they are worth almost nothing?

I know it might be possible to develop further solutions against botters, but that needs time, money, and effort.

So we got pumped up with serious amounts of mats and all that stuff, now can´t feel the lack of gold sometimes? Wanna Buy some gold to upgrade your gear? So buy some cheap ass gold from resellers, because u are too lazy running endless chaos dungeons for another 4 hours a day or what? I mean what are you gonna do? Wan´t a race in excavation and see who is earning more pennies?

Your horizon must be very well developed to complain about sellable chaos dungeons mats, which are actually the main income of botters, but not yours.

But I hurt you so hard and want to take everything away from you with my suggestion. Sorry for that, kid.

Your reality must be very fulfilling because some souls outside spend money on gold resellers instead of spending the amount of cash to the company that deserves the most.

The main thing for you is that you still get your next missing adventure tome or other things thrown after you, right?

Or are there some little guys here in this forum, making 5 digits every month from gold selling, that will publish this game so that “inconvenience players” like you have access to it?

There is just one Publisher who deserves the cash, and not some 5-digits making boy who wrote some code or stole it from another scripting boy. Watch the boys on their own platform, you will figure out what I mean.

And I don’t care about your relationship to AGS, because i also don’t care about the 5-digits coding boys.

Every penny AGS is missing out might inflict the outcome of AGS publishing this game.

AND DUDE listen finally, the botters don´t care about being banned, they just look at how much gold and finally money they can make, before getting banned. Do you understand it?

It’s better to get rid of this plague and make heavier decisions until this game can handle botters so well, that botters barely make any gold to sell and prices will get so high at resellers that nobody wants to invest in this risk.

Invest money into a better system, hire more people to deal with it not inconvenience players FURTHER.

This is not a productive suggestion. There is zero chance the playerbase can influence profit margin targets inside what is a likely complicated web between Amazon, AGS, and Smilegate. Having the existing resources (devs, community team, etc) come up with solutions is much much easier to move on than needing to involve things at the company level. And usually the easiest path is what happens because there is always too much to do and not enough resources.

Are you right in terms of what should happen for the best state of the game? Yes. But in 95% of game studios, the game will be shut down before an unprofitable decision is made. Also the fact that, even though it’s someone’s job to figure out a solution, sometimes those people are incapable of doing their job, but they will certainly not quit without confrontation (would you?) and replacing staff is very costly. So once again, what “should happen” usually does not.

Will OP’s suggestion work? Hell if i know. But at least it’s actionable and we need a fix right now for these bot & server issues (growing rapidly by the day) - at the very least maybe it makes the dev team think about the issue a little bit more, and that’s certainly a good thing.

It will work well enough to have a high impact. Botters gonna leave, market stabilization, many things get more worthy and players get a better playtime experience because they don’t have to rely on spamming endless chaos dungeons to compensate for the gold loss made they experience by a bot and gold resellers influenced the market.

But this decision and action have to be made!

Someone might not understand what it would mean to get rid of most botters and gold resellers.

Let me shortly explain to you.

The Bots are injecting a heavy amount of materials and all other crafting stuff into the market. So the prices gonna be low, they influence the price directly with it.

If I shut down the chaos dungeon for the bots by making everything unsellable in every tier, there will be not many 5-digit botting professionals left who can survive this action, because it’s their main source to make gold quickly before getting banned. So it’s worth it for them to run until they get banned.

After getting rid of most botters, you have to understand, that everything u actually do on a regular or daily base will become more worthy. Prices gonna rise again, and the players regain more power over the market.

That means you will do the exact same thing you do right now, and if you are not that dependent on buying stuff on the market at all, you will earn even more gold, because all the stuff is not that common anymore.

And maybe you start another task like excavation and now you can start to make some serious amount of gold because it has become more worthy again?

Doesn’t sound fun? I mean, for now, some people run endless chaos dungeons to make some gold, right…

So this suggestion has not only the chance to stabilize the market in some way and get rid of many botters because they leave this business in lost ark.

This suggestion also gives some players time back. By one or two hard but mostly simple decisions that have to be made at the right time.

Make a Test, take action for a month and the community will see.

I’m standing here in north-vern, in front of some bots before the chaos dungeon, knowing that hundreds of them that I don’t see are actually farming inside the chaos dungeon.

And this is just Tier1 farming bots on Asta. They are freaking everywhere in each tier on every server.

Wait until all those 5-digit boys invest money in the tier3 scripts, and they will figure stuff out even smarter. If then, that will not make everyone aware, then everyone never really cared about the own time they already invested in this game.

Disable the mail gold delivery and make all materials unsellable at the chaos dungeon vendor.

AGS injecting so much stuff with events already, people better stop complaining or crying.

AGS should not show fear by missing out on heavy actions for the wrong good sake of this game and the community. It has to be transparent and understandable written, so everybody can rely on and understand why decisions have been made.

By far the most common way gold sellers transfer the gold to buyers is via auction house sales rather than mail. It has always been like that in games, because it’s very easy for developers to track and shut down mail transfers of gold, while monkeying with the auction house is harder to do. So you could disable gold transfers by mail, but it won’t have much impact on bots and RMT gold sales in the game.

Imposing penalties like this onto the entire player base will never be a viable solution. Bad enough that they’re removing gold sources from the game as a means of combating gold sellers. Now you want to basically make progression impossible? God I am so sick of people making these threads :face_exhaling:

I know, but not every reseller is offering to auction house for a reason, it’s a workaround for them and puts in more effort. But finally, I don’t have any suggestions for the auction house thing at the moment.

Botting is something that needs to be dealt with at the client/account level. Not by removing features from the game. This is a hilariously bad argument.

Maybe not shut them down, but make everything roster bound?
And while being at it, remove gold portals after the first two runs.

Its says temporarily, as a live test. UNTIL devs are able to fix this problem better at the client/account level as you suggested

Yeah pretty sure my original argument stands. You want to essentially punish the entire player base as a way to do… what? Safe guard the economy while the devs fix this… hmmm ok… so how long do you think that is going to take? Because we’re already 4 months into this and have heard virtually nothing from the developers on this issue.

The economy isn’t even the entire focus on the botting issue, queues, server lag, new player retention issues, etc. Botting isn’t just about the economy, it’s one piece of a puzzle.

You are absolutely right about that! But it’s money to be made in here by the resellers. So yes limiting some already developed game functions, might be a quick but hard solution. No Cash, no bots.

The bots will find another source of income. They always will. The only effect this will have is that their gold prices will go up. But until AGS prices are not competitive to 3rd party sellers, they will still exist.

Changing gold income here and there is like playing whack-a-mole. But still, I think there are some low hanging fruits that could reduce their impact.

Besides that, the only option I see is to proper validate every single account that is being created, add captcha, block proxies and hosting services.

If you are going to respond with hyperbole or slippery slope, save it. If you cannot answer my first question, maybe stop with the hyperbole and make coherent arguments.

I feel like I could agree with you if you just explained where you were coming from instead of pathetically attempting to insult OP.

Im not insulting the OP at all :thinking: I said his idea is laughable… because it is…

His suggestion while yes it would kill the infinite chaos bots… it would also prevent legitimate progression from happening via chaos. Just because a tiny minority of players are okay with crippling legit players over bots doesnt mean the majority would.
