Yeah, the consumer protections will make sure they get their money back in the case of AGS attempting to stop that.
However, the gulf between that and this person claiming they were deliberately scammed and cheated is as wide as the pacific ocean. It’s not true and it actually demeans the posts of the people who have legitimate gripes about this issue.
I think the solution is inelegant but almost everyone is getting a free second founders pack and additional account-wide currency. It’s a compromise considering they don’t have the structure right now to support bug-free transfers of characters.
Well outside of the 6 people here complaining about it all of reddit, several gaming news outlets, and many content creators are lauding the free packs as a very good solution, it seems only a very upset minority are here and claiming they’ve been stolen from.
True tho a scam is a scam no matter if its deliberate or not.
Promised one thing, ended up a complete another for a lot of people and then denying a refund. From what i understand some 1.500.000 people bought the founders packs. Number of people actually asking for a refund after this debacle of a launch could be massive and could end up with a lot more then just consumer rights association’s making AGS give refunds.
Best thing would be those who want an actual refund should be given a refund with no fuss.
It’s not a scam, no one was ever guaranteed to be able to play on server X with all of their friends under any circumstances, you’re just wrong and so is he. They got exactly what they paid for. Thinking otherwise is ridiculous.
I agree it sucks, but it’s not a scam, this discussion was happening last month when FFXIV literally didn’t have the capacity for 1/4 of the demand and people literally couldn’t play for a week.
Its a basic feature of a MMO - massively multiplayer online game tho. The lines between its a scam and it isnt a scam are extremely blurred out atm tho.
If nothing else if it gets to that someone else will decide if its a scam or not man but at the very least dont support a practice like this its HORRIBLE.
Ah man. I didn’t know Zinnervale was that busy. I played really early wasn’t even busy till the next day. I Wana play on less busy server. By the time I get home from work im in queue for like 5hrs by then I just end up sleeping. Been waking up 3am just to have a chance to play. Rip for people who works
They are absolutely not blurred in any way. You are paying for the opportunity of access to their game, thinking otherwise is childish. If this was in any way true you would have seen square enix in court already, their game was literally unplayable for weeks after it’s launch. You aren’t even entitled access to the game when you want.
It sucks and it is a consequence of capitalism, but it’s the reality. There is no scam here, just a crappy situation that would be solved if they had put language tags on servers and had character transfers ready.
Yes you will, you get extra skins, mounts, and pets. You will also get an additional 1000 royal crystals. If you spent royal crystals on character specific items in the shop, however, you won’t get those on a new character/server.
This other individual is lying to you for attention.
There is no disagreement, simply the law and the nature of end user license agreements. If the world worked in the way you thought it did they would be legally culpable for things like server outages.

Well then try my argumentation:
I bought a pack 2 days ago. I got recorded 17 hours in my account from what roughly was 12 hours queue until yesterday maintenance.
Since after the maintanance i am not able to play anymore and use my bought ingame services.
I just cant login and i am not willing to schedule my life or electricity bill after the queue times.
Of course i could go another server - but there i cant use my paid items. So what now?`
I am literally NOT able to play with what i bought. Since 24 hours and lets be honest this would be the fact until sunday very late night.
If this is not refundable, what is?
I want a full refund of the founder’s pack, this is a total scam and it is being blasted all over every social media outlet right now. It is even being tagged with Consumer Law specialists from every country Lost Ark is operating in.
Everyone I suggest you all do the same and force Amazon and Steam to abide by their own refund policies.
Complete scam, poor form, I will be telling all the sponsors and all the streamers to start a campaign against this Lost Ark Founders scam, lets get Asmongold to blast it out there, I’m sure he would be delighted to rip into this and have it trending by days end.
