Bound Honing Materials

So, I do understand the need to control the influx of materials hitting the market and using a mechanic like bound to roster for farmable resources. That said, why are so many honing mats bound to a single character instead of bound to roster? Shards and stones alike. It certainly doesn’t feel good to graduate a tier with 30k+ shards laying around that will never be used by any of my characters.

Please consider changing this mechanic to swap bound to bound to roster so that these valuable resources aren’t just going into a wasted black hole.

I am fine with the shards being char bound but the stones/leap IMO should be roster bound. It would help a ton

Leapstones are only the real major cost/blocking point. You can only get your x amount from dungeons, guardians, and daily quests as well as weekly amount from vendors before having to buy them. Guardian leaps are tradeable so I transfer all from alts. Don’t see this change happening until Valtan when they implement the 1370 catch up.

Naw, there’s no reason shards should be either. They’re even under the currency tab where literally everything else is roster bound as well.

There really is no legitimate case for character over roster bound other than pushing more people to purchase more materials from market. The whole reason bound exists is to control amount entering said market, but that doesn’t excuse the character-bound system. Especially when KR/RU don’t have to deal with this problem.

imagine playing 12 chars and getting all those mats to use on 1, ah would break and no one would sell mats or they all would be 1 gold per stack

It’s weird, considering. There’s kind of a mixed message. They keep saying they want to catch us up to T3 and get us caught up with other versions of the game but also seem one foot in one foot out on how they want to accomplish that.

because it is bull shit what they adding changes nothing  well you will get 2/3 more times to burn your gold and maybe get that + on that one item  I play 5 weeks still sitting 1355 this whole stalling thing really makes me quit and come back on summer or so when more stuff will be up. Sure I wont quit I like game but all those update things nah nah it`s brain wash for newbies :stuck_out_tongue:

I wouldn’t mind so much if they’d keep the suds out of my eyes.

There are a lot of mats sitting idle on characters, but hardly enough to destroy the market. Last I checked the KR/RU servers were just fine and their stuff IS roster bound.

All you could legitimately expect to happen is a dip in prices for a week or two after the patch as those materials are burnt up, after which prices would return to normal.

Sorry to say, but as someone who already has 4 actively played characters, what you are describing is nonsensical.

Doing the daily activities (not including guardian raids, as the time to reward ratio on those is abysmal) already takes about 30 minutes per character. That means, it takes me two hours to finish the “daily chores” part of my game play and then I have not yet done any adventures, portals, bosses, or progressed any of the exploration content.

Sure you can have 12 characters, if you got 6 hours a day to spend on doing nothing but daily runs. That is just not a realistic example.

mainly I was referring to rooster shards sharing not upgrade mats. and it`s not available on kr or ru or anywhere ;p

It would be a good QOL thing if they did anyway for all servers (referring to shards). The effect would be the same regardless, market would dip as the materials are used to level a new alt, prices return to normal. The only market depression comes from those who had a desire to level an alt and would have turned to the market to speed along.

That translates to, here in the West the market would feel it even less as people here are less prone to level an alt at all.

Not to mention KR/RU have more sources for mats than we do even with the events.

@Roxx I noticed in the upcoming patch this issue is being resolved by kicking the can down the road a little bit further. There seems to be a lot of reluctance to make “bound” materials “bound to roster” though, and I’m curious, has the team shared any of their concerns about why they might not want to do this kind of change that you’d be able to share with us?

Tell me you havent played on KR without telling me you havent played in KR.

Who necroed this thread? Lmao

At the time that I posted that everyone was saying Korea’s bound system was roster, not character. Of course I didn’t play the Korean version very few people here can say otherwise. We only had the information we were being told to go off of at the time.

Regardless I would still say the character bound system is pointless and players would benefit from such a change. I only have 2 alts left not at t3 at this point, so I have very little to gain from such a change at this point.
