Class releases are a very hot topic at the moment with many people wanting their future mains to come out and feeling their time is being wasted on characters they aren’t going to stick with, however I want to broch a different topic
I believe we should get new classes at the same time as Korea.
A lot of the magic and excitement experienced by Korean players is lost to the NA/EU audience due to our staggered release schedule. We miss out on trying new stuff, playing around with builds and various other theory crafting and minmax optimizations.
This is similar to the lack of magic around new legion raids, having fully fleshed out guides and gameplay videos makes progression more of an active handicap and while I understand there is nothing that can be done about it due to how progression is structured I feel like we have the opportunity to allow some of that magic for the player base through new classes.
I was prompted on this topic after looking into a Korean theory craft video on Aeromancer where they were trying to find out the optimal role in a party for the class and felt a profound sadness that by the time we get the class it will be fully solved.
Does anyone else in the community wish for our new class schedules to synch up with Korea?
I hope this gets enough attention to help bring the planning and theory craft magic to NA/EU
You do forget that the class releases in korea is roughtly 1 in every 6-7 months.
If we keep the announced release of one every 2 months, then we’ll catch up to Korea. We’ll not catch up by the time they’ll release the next class of the female Berserker, but will most likely will be close to the class in regard of release after female Berserker.
We got dumped with nearly 2 years of content within a spawn of 6 months. When we’ll get close to korea and everything will slows down to the point of new class/content every 3-4 months only, the forum will be filled of people demanding news, any kind of news in these empty weeks.
Be thankful we have something to look forward, at least for now.
That’s what most disappointing to me, I love theorycrafting specially for class builds, but we get them so late that we can never dare to step into the realm of theorycrafting, we get all builds solved for us and all that is left to theorize is how to make budget versions of those builds.
This may be fine for raids, but is worthless for class builds.
There is a difference between being an inovator and simply refusing to do research, one of the most important parts of theorycrafting is research, and discussing with other people to learn different points of view and adapt them to your idea. Refusing to research is what a incompetent theorycrafter who can never come up with the new meta build would do. You theorycraft so you can be the pioneer of a new optimal playstyle, not to cripple yourself and just “figure things out on your own”, it’s most of the time a community activity who even bonds people together, just turns out we don’t have the right the participate on it.
I’d hope we would get Aeromancer soon or with KR release, but at this point I don’t know if AGS is even capable of such a decision, with the complete lack of responses coming our way regarding class release cadence. I did make a post exactly about this though, that experiencing something new as a whole community would be great for the game Release Aeromancer to NA/EU as well, but ig not. New class releases experienced together would be nice, but we have to deal with our butchered version of the game
I suppose you are some rando, but on most adc releases on LoL I was on top of theorycrafting. No one ever has their name attributed to builds now a days, but the fact I was able to get together with other people and figure out Senna builds and strats that would be meta in the near future was awesome, even got to abuse it for free ranking up for a while. But you are clearly someone who doesn’t understand theorycrafting and is not in any theorycrafting communities for anything, so it would be pointless to discuss that with you.
Theory crafting is a community activity. A big example of this is the Balance discord for FF14 where almost every high end raider goes for information, Its a big hub for people to discuss builds and theroy craft optimal uptime and build strategies.
The idea that there is a cabal of theroy crafters who dictate builds is asinine. Even currently people are experimenting and testing out new builds. Personally im running a nightmare piano swiftlancer in prep for kuku knowing its unfavorable for slow classes.
All we have is the shallow water of theory crafting because if you care about being a good player with a good build you look up a guide. If we had to start the game from scratch we’d still be debating grudge vs cursed doll vs increase mass.
Never said that. People who theorycraft seriously have their communities they engage with and give results to others inside, or keep it themselves - until they make a guide themselves.
I hate this thing but related to the raid. By the time we get the raids, there are 20+ cheat sheets and 200+ “You need ONLY guide” videos and ppl are expecting me to know them and be “experienced” even before opening the Raid selection screen.
The thing above is only based on my experiences! (sadly I have no static yet)
