After (almost) clearing G6, I figured out I’d do the tier list of all 6 gates based on: difficulty balance, mid-fight gameplay experience quality and mechanics.
So here it is:
SSS - 6, 1, 2. 6 because it’s very interesting, 1 because it’s super fun to push your DPS uptime to limits, 2 only for inside, outside sucks.
B - 3, 4. Better than some other raids, worse than some, nothing special. Annoying, easy.
Garbage - 5. Kindergarten simulator, most RNG, easy on paper but need all 8 alive, that’s a problem in pugs.
G1: Same as before only everything the dude does hurts, even over ilvl you actually can’t just facetank everything on a squishy.
G2: Buggy. Not just the 2 line Prokel, there are some serious issues happening with this gate.
G3: Fun, the changes to the gate aren’t that bad they keep it interesting but not oppressive
G4: The meteors and little orbs are on crack. Each mechanic swap and the primary stagger phase are both perfectly fine. Some of the patterns can be a bit silly with it’s RNG lapping such as having to stack to not get frozen while also having to spread to place the lasor beam lines apart. All in all my favorite of the gates
G5: Disliked this gate in normal, dislike it just as much in Hard.
G6: I wouldn’t want to pug it, but in a static with comms it’s a lot of fun. It’s really not all that much harder overall.
TL:DR Brel HM will be a hard stop for the average pug player beyond probably G2.
Because they gotta greed that damage instead of going to the edge of the map on last call and just chilling out.
So you got CrayonUpNose the Berserker in there trying to push those last couple bars while there are still a thousands shapes floating around and ends up getting bumped into a new shape while the support runs in to save him and gets bumped into a reset.
G1: the trash mob part is a waste of time but the rest is like a hitting a trixion scarecrow so can be somewhat satisfying I’d give it a D
G2: normal mode prokel is so good. Honestly you can do it on every class on ilvl even dps supports if you are good so it’s a really fair fight overall. HM Prokel is unlike NM Prokel though. Some classes just can’t do it no matter how good you are unless you invest in a prokel build or something. I’d also give it a D
G3: meh.
G4: is really good and overall well balanced between mechanically demanding and rewarding. SSS tier
G5: it’s like someone vomited on my screen. I like the general idea of a gate with overwhelming visuals but waiting in a corner for 20 red explosions and black holes and walls and all that crap to go away is not very fun. Z tier
G6 end mech was very cool, I’m down to do that raid a couple of times a week if not more.
I would rank 6 > 2 > 3 > 1 > 4 >>>> 5 for me personally. I am the Prokel killer (1v1, not 2v1) so this week was not the best, looking forward to getting better at fighting my best bud again.
They could delete Gate 5 tomorrow and I would have no issue though.
G1: Trial and error. Easily be done. More exciting then normal.
G2: It’s fun if people stop dying so much outside. Not recommended for iLv people.
G3: Gate is chill as long as people know their position just like normal.
G4: I died maybe 2 of 40 times we reset. People couldn’t keep alive for what it’s worth. Frustrating for me to pug. As long as everyone is respectful, I don’t mind reset for them to learn.
G5 & 6: Probably never gonna try. I’m good just doing 1-4. My sanity is more important than the extra homework that make people became hostile towards other. If I somehow continue to play this game. Akkan will be main focus and not Brel 5 & 6.
G1. Does anyone have difficulty with this? It’s so easy that it gets boring!
G2. I liked it, but the fact that 2 players can join the fight against Prokel makes it easier.
G3. I liked it a lot, the jellyfish during the mechanics of 42x and 0x made things more interesting.
G4. Literally my favorite gate, well balanced.
G5. It’s fun if you play with friends, if it’s with a group of strangers you’ll only get stressed because everyone will blame the raid and not the mistakes that each one makes, the gate itself is easy, the players who become difficult and stressful!
G6. Same thing as Gate 5, it’s not difficult, the players make it difficult!
They should just scrap g5 and split g6 into two. First 100 bars in g6 is just a waste of time, fight is just too long. Why wasting couple minutes each pull when real fun begins with shandi mech?
