So recently @Roxx stated that VPN’s are against Amazon ToS.
However, the Amazon ToS States this:
5.2 Geographic Restrictions. Due to technical and other restrictions, the Games may be available only in certain locations. We may use technologies to verify your geographic location and restrict access to the Games from other locations. You may not use any technology or technique to obscure or disguise your location.
This sounds like they are only concerned about players using VPN’s from within restricted countries.
Can we get some clarification on whether we are allowed to use VPN’s from OCE and other countries that are allowed access to the game, in order to reduce our ping. It’s bad enough OCE doesn’t get local servers, we should at least be allowed this without worrying about having our accounts banned.
The ToS is binding to every user. So even as an OCE player you are not allowed. There are no exceptions. And Roxx or Seawolf or Trevzor will be able to confirm this.
Steam btw has the same ToS, so if Steam catches you with that they will close your account.
After doing a bit more reserch i found this reddit post from a few years ago.
So i still want to know if using the likes of Exitlag or mudfish to reduce ping would be a banable offense? Since it doesn’t seem to have any features to allow you to change your geographic location and isn’t “technically” a VPN in my eyes. It’s only there to improve the connection between your router and the games server.
Unless AGS change it at last minutes…
So it comes back to you… would you risk it for better gameplay experience? @Roxx has recommended not using VPN.
So use it at own risk, I personally will not using any VPN until it’s absolutely needed.
I played CBT and during leveling despite very noticeable rubber banding when I climb the cliff/ dodging boss attacks it still somewhat playable.
However, I am aware some raid boss skill can 1-2 shot you that’s when VPN or OCE server is required.
If I get banned that’s game over. It is what it is and I will move on to different game
Hope it answered your question
Unless you use a VPN to get cheaper regional pricing, Steam doesn’t give a shit.
I’m often connected to a VPN when using Steam or use my VPN to add region restricted F2P games to my library without any problem. Lost Ark is one of those region restricted games, so either I use a VPN or I can’t even play.
If we cant get a server at least let us use a VPN. We are in the publishers legitimate zones for Lost Ark. The way it looks is they are happy to take money from people in these regions but arent ok with having proper infrastructure in these zones.
